💙We are still feeling the love from last week when Misha Dream Walker from The Dream Project visited us. 💙

Misha is an advocate for arthrogryposis. She and her husband swung by on their annual road trip to say hello to some old and new friends. Community is truly something special, and meeting others with the same condition is very inspiring to many! Misha and Mike travel around in "old lady," which has spray-painted hands and feet all over. It is a sight to see.

Now, Allison is using both arms to play, and her mother Ashley is extremely grateful. She said, “I love my daughter’s care team – Dr. Zlotolow, Dr. Kozin and now Dr. Park! I have loved getting to know this team over the past four years for my daughter with a BPI. The most knowledgeable and compassionate group I could ever ask for. Well worth the trip from South Carolina to Pennsylvania.”

Louise is a happy and bubbly kid who doesn’t let anything stop her from doing what she loves, including, dancing, singing and competitive cheerleading!

Born prematurely at 34 weeks, her parents realized that she wasn't hitting her developmental milestones as fast as her twin sister. After evaluation and a series of tests, it was determined that Louise had experienced a stroke in utero, leading to a diagnosis of mild cerebral palsy with left hemiplegia. In August of 2025, Louise and her family sought a second opinion at Shriners Children's Philadelphia, which includes guidance from pediatric orthopedic surgeon Sean Waldron, M.D., and customized braces made in our Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetic Services (POPS) department.

👋 Meet Tom and Linda! Tom, a once Philadelphia police officer turned nurse at Shriners Children's for patients with spinal cord injuries, and Linda, who worked at our old hospital as a bedside nurse, and moved into a few different roles at both our old hospital and our current.

What's even sweeter, they met at our original hospital on Roosevelt Boulevard, got married, and their daughter also studied nursing and worked at Shriners Children's!

As we step into our next century, we're grateful to have them as part of our story ❤️
