The overall mission of our program is to become a world-class academic and research unit committed to advancing the role of play, recreation, and leisure opportunities in active living, health and life-quality promotion, and rehabilitation and disease prevention for diverse groups, especially those with chronic illnesses and disabilities across the lifespan.

These 4 recreational therapy grad students popped into the faculty office to spread joy before going to a Temple RT Student Association meeting!!

This is one of the first student club meetings intentionally planned as a mixer for the grad & undergrad students. Our undergrad program is in-person and our MSRT is virtual so it’s been tricky to get everyone together. The current RTSA board is determined to build this community and it's exciting to see this happening.

The future is bright as these 4 enter the field with their master's degrees this year.

Exciting news!!!! The AHA/ASA 2026 Guideline for Adult Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery was published this morning. Heather Porter has been a part of this project and shares that this is the first time RT was included in the guideline!

A section is dedicated to Recreational, Leisure, and Social Activity Participation. The Clinician Resources includes "Top Take-Home Messages for Recreational Therapists."
