One family. Two podiatrists. One goal: helping our patients stay on their feet. 👣
Meet Dr. William Urbas and his daughter, Dr. Kirstyn Urbas — our father-daughter team here in Philadelphia.

Dr. William Urbas: 42 years in practice. Dr. Kirstyn Urbas: practicing since 2020, following in her dad's footsteps (literally)

He never pushed her into it. She grew up watching how much his patients loved him — and knew early on she wanted the same career. (Fun fact: at an elementary school career fair, she was the only kid who said "podiatrist" — and it landed her a spot on local TV!)

Now they share more than a last name. They share an office, a whiteboard full of cases, and plenty of old-school-vs-new-school debates. 😄

👟 Turns out some things run in the family too — Favorite area of podiatry? Surgery, for both. Favorite shoe brand? New Balance, no contest.

Today is National I Love My Feet Day — a good reminder that foot health is often overlooked until something goes wrong. A few quick facts:

🦴 26 bones per foot — roughly a quarter of all the bones in your body

💦 ~250,000 sweat glands between your two feet

Integrated Foot and Ankle Specialists was excited to participate in Independence Blue Cross Business at the Ballpark event at Citizens Bank Park!

Our Practice Managers, Lorraine Abdalla and Vienna DeAngelo, had the opportunity to connect with local businesses throughout the Philadelphia region and share more about the podiatric services available through IFAS. From routine foot care and diabetic foot care to sports injuries, wound care, and more, our team is proud to serve as a trusted podiatry resource for patients and organizations throughout our communities.

It was a great day of building meaningful connections, sharing how we can support the foot and ankle health of our local communities, and, of course, taking a photo with a hometown favorite — the Phillie Phanatic! 💚

Dr. Renee Vekkos recently had the pleasure of returning to The Fountains at Atco for her second annual foot health presentation! She enjoyed speaking with residents about the importance of foot health and how proper care can help maintain mobility, comfort, and independence.

We were proud to attend the Philadelphia Museum of Art Health & Wellness Fair last week and connect with members of the local community!
Our offices, Philadelphia Podiatrist and Center for Foot and Ankle Excellence represented IFAS during this exciting event focused on health, wellness, and community engagement.
