Allied Trades Assistance Program ATAP is an award-winning EAP. In effect, ATAP is a program of unions, for unions and by unions.

ATAP’s mission is to promote service delivery for SUD and mental health to union members and their dependents & to protect the solvency of the health and welfare funds who are responsible for paying for treatment costs. Welcome to Allied Trades Assistance Program

d service delivery for drug and alcohol abuse, mental health concerns and related issues to union members, retirees and dependents. The programs and policies of ATAP are formulated by a Board of Directors composed of union leaders, contractors and management concerned with cost and quality of drug and alcohol treatment and related problems. The staff of ATAP is directly responsive to the specific needs to eligible union members, their dependents and retirees in providing personal, confidential and appropriate referral and follow-up services. The problems of substance abuse and mental illness affect every level of society. As pressures of everyday living have increased, so have the number of people with substance abuse and mental health problems and the cost of treatment. ATAP was created to address the needs of union members arising out of substance abuse and mental health issues as well as related problems. Recognition, treatment, education and cost containment are the areas addressed by ATAP.

In light of recent events, it’s more important than ever that our union brothers and sisters stand together. Strength isn’t just built on the job; it’s built in how we support one another through life’s toughest moments. 💪

Support groups play a powerful role in recovery and mental health. They offer a place to talk it out with people who understand, where you can show up as you are, and know you’re not alone. Sometimes, just listening or being there for someone else can make all the difference.

Date: The 3rd Monday of every month
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: The Finishing Trades Institute (FTI)
2190 Hornig Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116

Purpose: To provide support for those recovering from substance use disorder and/or mental health challenges. This is an all-inclusive support group for members of the Philadelphia Building Trades.

March is Women in Construction Month and at ATAP we’re not just recognizing it, we’re owning it. Women in the trades show up every day with grit, skill, and resilience, helping build and shape the industry stronger every day. Strength doesn’t mean it’s easy. Behind the hard hats are real pressures; high-stress environments, long hours, family responsibilities...and the added effort it takes to thrive and lead in any demanding field. That’s exactly why support isn’t optional. It’s essential. Through ATAP, we make sure women in construction have access to confidential mental health and substance use support when it matters most. Stress, burnout, addiction; whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone. Strong doesn’t mean silent. This March, don’t just celebrate women in the industry, stand behind them.
