Cemeteries tell stories about those that rest behind their gates. Stories of love, war, family, legacy, and sometimes extreme tragedy. We held a funeral today for a woman that experienced multiple hardships and tragic circumstances from a young age. As a young teenager she lost her little brother who drowned. As if that wasn't hard enough, a few years later, both her mother, and two year old sister, died in a house fire that she survived, at the tender age of 15. Her mother and two year old sister were laid to rest in the same casket (very common at the time and circumstance). As the departed's sister, daughter and family friend eulogized her today, they spoke of her resilience, her love for her children, grandchildren, life and how proud she was of her family. Having to trudge on in life after such darkness with a good attitude and smile on your face is rare and incredibly difficult to say the least. As the saying goes....they don't make them like they used to. She was laid to rest in the family plot (next to her mother, sister, brother and other family members) in Greenmount Cemetery

Yesterday we held a graveside service for a man that was ahead of his time. He was a bodybuilder in the 1970s & 80s, and a fixture at one of the most iconic gyms in Philadelphia area at the time (Greg Long's Gym). He would frequent other gyms in the area (CFI, Palestra, Sports Clinic) and as a young kid looking at massive guys, like the departed was at that time, it was like looking at a super hero. A good man, who served our country as well, a good husband and friend was laid to rest with military honors in North Cedar Hill Cemetery. Please pray for the repose of his soul and peace for his loved ones.

Charles Trimarco, age 87, passed away at home on May 29th, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, brother, William and one nephew. Graveside services with military honors will be held North Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Many families are affected by addiction. It fractures friendships, parental bonds, familial ties and those afflicted. We held a funeral for a girl that had a beautiful soul and bared her addiction to millions online. People knew who she was and followed her daily struggles through social media. The departed didn't hide who she was....she showed the dark side of a terrible situation (that millions of people are in) while showing her beauty and kindness as a human being. Her sister and mother eulogized her honorably, and with transparency and raw emotion. As I was looking at the photos during the memorial, I saw a picture of the departed in front of the steps at St. Timothy Catholic Church...it was her first communion. This girl could have been anyone of the many people that we grew up with, walked past on the street, or shared a community with. The courage of the beloved departed, through the sharing of her struggles, just may have saved countless others from the same fate that she endured. I did not know her, but I'm incredibly impressed by the memory of who she represents and am proud that we handled her services.
