A waitlist doesn’t automatically mean you need another class.

One sold-out time slot can look great while the rest of your schedule is underutilized.

Before adding more inventory, look at the inventory you already have.

The KPI: class utilization.

Where is demand concentrated? Where are you consistently under capacity? And what could be optimized before you add more?

Growth isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about making what you already have work better.

Before I tell you to run ads, post more, add classes, change your pricing, or hire another instructor…I want to see the numbers.

Because what looks like a marketing problem could actually be a conversion problem. Or retention. Or utilization. Or revenue per class.

Different KPI. Different strategy.

Growth advice without KPIs is just guessing.

A unique method can set your studio apart, but it can also make scaling a lot more complicated.

The more specific your method, the more important instructor training, onboarding, and quality control become.

The ops takeaway: your method is only as scalable as the people who can teach it.

ClassPass clients aren’t converting? Maybe conversion isn’t the metric we should be obsessing over.

The way Gen Z consumes boutique fitness is changing. They want flexibility, variety, and less commitment.

Instead of fighting that behavior, studios can build operations around it.

Fill otherwise empty inventory. Protect peak-time capacity. Be intentional about what you release.

ClassPass can still work for your studio — even if those clients never become members.

More time doesn’t always mean more value 👀

BODYROK STUDIOS 45-minute format is a great example of how class length can impact scheduling, capacity, and the overall studio model.

The ops takeaway: sometimes growth isn’t about adding more. Rather, it’s about using what you already have more efficiently.

I’ve built multiple businesses now, and every one of them has taught me something different about myself. What I’m good at, what I value, what I’m willing to let go of, and what kind of life I actually want to build. I think that’s the part of business ownership I love most…it’s constantly asking you to become more and more honest with yourself.

Consistency ≠ identical programming.

FS8 does a great job creating consistency across the brand, but I believe programming is an art form, and instructors need room to bring their own strengths and style into the room.

The ops takeaway: build enough structure to protect your brand without programming the individuality out of your instructors.

Scaling locations is one thing. Scaling the client experience is another.

JETSET has built a highly scalable model — but as any studio grows, instructor consistency becomes even more important.

The ops takeaway: your instructor development needs to scale with your business.
