Hi everyone! It has been a minute since I've posted here! I hope you're all well and taking good care as we leap into 2022. I thought I'd share a few exciting updates: in the fall of 2021, I accepted a full-time position as a therapist with Thomas Jefferson University in Center City, Philadelphia. I am deeply enjoying my work with Jefferson, and continuing my practice as a therapist there. In tandem, I have transitioned my private practice to focus primarily on supervision and consultation for clinicians interested in taking a social justice and anti-oppressive approach to social work practice. I’m delighted to announce I’ll be speaking at The Renfrew Center Foundation’s Annual Conference, this year titled: “Feminist Relational Perspectives and Beyond: Discerning Truth.”

In Philadelphia, PA on November 8 – 10, 2019, this Conference will focus on cognitive and psychological flexibility, neuroscience and the developing brain, compassion, and the healing qualities of the therapeutic relationship. I specifically will be speaking on Building LGBTQIA+ Affirming Environments by Challenging Personal and Organizational Bias with Rebecca Newman, LCSW.

In a little less than 2 weeks, Erin Eagles and I will be presenting at Philly Trans Wellness Conference on how we can make substance use treatment more inclusive and accessible for trans and gender non-conforming folks. Hope to see you there!

This interactive workshop will explore ways that providers can improve access to substance use treatment for transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) people. TGNC people often face microaggressions, discrimination, and providers with insufficient knowledge of TGNC issues when seeking treatment.....
