G-TEP (Elan Shapiro) and C-GTEP (Adaptation for children by Ana Gomez) recognize that distress is not always something that has already ended. It offers a structured and contained way to begin reprocessing what is still unfolding—allowing individuals to engage in EMDR reprocessing within a group setting, while maintaining safety and minimal verbal disclosure.
It is a powerful example of how EMDR GTEP and CGTEP can meet people where they are, even when the story is not yet over.
