Occupational therapists notice posture.
Physical therapists notice movement.
As a myofunctional therapist… I notice mouths. 👄
I was at the gym today, and one thing kept catching my attention.
So many people were exercising with their mouths hanging open.
Now before anyone comes for me… 😄
There are absolutely times when mouth breathing happens during very intense exercise, and that’s normal.
But here’s something to think about…
👉 If your mouth is open during light to moderate exercise—or even while you’re walking around throughout the day—it may be worth paying attention to your breathing habits.
Your nose does more than just move air.
It warms, filters, humidifies, and helps condition the air you breathe.
👀 Here’s my challenge for you:
The next time you’re at the gym, take a look around.
How many people do you notice exercising with their mouths open?
Then ask yourself…
What is my mouth doing?
👇 Tell me in the comments…
Are you usually a nose breather or a mouth breather when you work out?
