🌿 World Mental Health Day | October 10
Motherhood is often celebrated for the beautiful moments, but what about the moments that feel overwhelming, lonely, frightening, or nothing like what you imagined?
The journey through pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and pregnancy loss can bring emotions that are complicated, unexpected, and sometimes difficult to share.
As a perinatal mental health therapist, I want to remind you that you do not have to be struggling silently. You do not have to reach a breaking point to deserve support. And you do not have to be grateful for your baby while dismissing your own emotional needs.
You can love your child and still struggle.
You can be strong and still need help.
You can be a wonderful mother and still experience mental health challenges.
This World Mental Health Day, let's continue creating space for honest conversations, compassionate support, and greater awareness of perinatal mental health.
Because caring for mothers means caring for their mental health, too. 🤍
If you or someone you love is struggling, reaching out to a qualified mental health professional can be an important first step.

Maternal Su***de Awareness | A conversation we cannot afford to avoid.
Maternal mental health conversations often focus on depression and anxiety—but we also need to be willing to talk openly about suicidal thoughts.
Sometimes the person who needs help doesn't look like they're struggling.
She may be going to appointments.
Taking care of the baby.
Going to work.
Answering texts with “I'm fine.”
Smiling for pictures.
And still hurting deeply.
Su***de is complex, and there is never one single explanation. But recognizing warning signs, reducing stigma, increasing access to treatment, strengthening connection, and asking direct questions can create opportunities for intervention.
As perinatal mental health providers, we want families to know:
You don't have to wait until you're in crisis to ask for help.
And if someone tells you they're thinking about su***de, believe them, stay connected, and help them access immediate professional support.
If you or someone you love is experiencing suicidal thoughts:
📞 Call or text 988
📱 National Maternal Mental Health Hotline: 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262) — free, confidential, 24/7 support for pregnant and postpartum individuals.
📞 Postpartum Support International: 1-800-944-4773 for perinatal mental health support and resources.
🚨 If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
What would change if we made it safer for mothers to say, “I'm not okay”?

🌿 Women's Equality Day | Honoring Every Woman's Journey 🌿

Today, on Women's Equality Day, we honor the strength, resilience, and courage of women—past and present—who have worked to create a world where women have greater opportunities, choices, and voices.
At our practice, we believe that honoring women also means honoring the whole experience of womanhood.

✨ The woman navigating infertility while others ask when she's having children.
✨ The mother healing after pregnancy or infant loss while carrying invisible grief.
✨ The woman living with postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, rage, or trauma who wonders if she'll ever feel like herself again.
✨ The parent who loves their child deeply while struggling through one of the hardest seasons of life.
✨ The woman balancing work, caregiving, relationships, and expectations while trying to remember that her own needs matter too.
Women's equality isn't only about having a seat at the table.

It's also about creating spaces where women are believed, supported, and able to ask for help without shame.
It means recognizing that mental health is healthcare.
It means acknowledging that every woman deserves compassionate care throughout pregnancy, postpartum, loss, infertility, and beyond.
Today, we celebrate the incredible strength of women—not because they should have to carry everything alone, but because they deserve communities that help carry the weight with them.

💜 To every woman reading this:
Your voice matters.
Your story matters.
Your healing matters.
And you never have to walk this journey alone.

While August 22nd is a day we want to remember and recognize the babies who came before and the babies who came after-

We want to remind you that everyday parents are honoring these babies, not just a single day a year. So remember to check on those mothers often, and say their babies name 💙
