I cried three times and every single time was because I couldn’t believe how fu***ng beautiful it was and how grateful I was that I actually got to be there, standing in it, experiencing it with my own eyes. 🥹🏜️
9 miles through the crazy elevation and temperature changes of Grand Canyon, and I genuinely don’t know if pictures will ever be able to capture what it feels like to stand somewhere like this.
There were so many moments where we just stopped and looked around like… holy s**t. This is our life.
Standing in the middle of something so massive, so old, and so unbelievably beautiful really puts into perspective just how small we are in this entire world. And somehow that doesn’t make me feel insignificant! It makes me feel incredibly grateful that I get to be here at all. That I get to see this. Experience this. Live this life.
This was easily one of the hardest things I’ve ever physically done. There were absolutely moments where I looked back up at that rim and thought, *you have got to be fu***ng kidding me, I have to climb all the way back up THERE?!* 😂 My legs were Jell-O, everything hurt, and I questioned several of my life choices; one being “can I just live down here instead?”
And somehow… I already want to do it again.
Because I can do hard things. And there’s something really fu***ng powerful about proving that to yourself.
Also, important life lesson: trail pizza is an absolute fu***ng MUST. 😂🍕 We brought leftover pizza from the night before and ate it sitting on the trail in the Grand Canyon, and I’m pretty sure pizza will never taste that good again.
But the best part? I got to do it next to this girl who’s been my bestie going on 31 years. From growing up together to standing inside the Grand Canyon together, looking around at this ridiculous, beautiful life we’ve somehow created.
My heart is so fu***ng full.
Arizona, you continue to blow my mind. 🖤🏜️
Next up: training for Rim to Rim. Because apparently we learned absolutely nothing. 😂
