5 non-negotiable q’s for male clients:

1️⃣ “What does fine mean for you?”
2️⃣ “What did you learn about emotions as a kid?”
3️⃣ “What happens in the 10 minutes before you shut down?”
4️⃣ “What would make therapy a success?”
5️⃣ “Have you ever thought they’d be better off with you?”

Ask him clearly, ask him directly, and clarify confidentiality so he can speak freely without fearing the consequences.

Male clients are not impossible to engage.

Sometimes they have simply spent years in rooms where they felt analysed, corrected or expected to perform vulnerability in a very specific way.
