Day 1 at the NRHA Health Access Conference sparked some great conversations around patient centered care and the importance of understanding the whole person behind the patient.

One session focused on intersectionality and how every individual’s circumstances, barriers, and experiences impact health outcomes differently. Another highlighted how healthcare organizations are reframing conversations around equity and disparities while continuing to focus on improving access and outcomes.

Proud of and for representing Blackbox Healthcare Solutions and bringing back insights that align closely with the work we do every day.

The Blackbox Healthcare Solutions team is headed to San Diego for a full week focused on advancing rural healthcare access and innovation at the NRHA Rural Health Access Conference and the NRHA Annual Rural Health Conference.

Finishing our second leg of our week on the road in Jekyll Island at the Emergency Management Association of Georgia conference has reinforced something we have believed from the beginning.

The REACH Program is not just about improving access to care for rural communities and patients who are too often left behind. It is also a critical piece of the future of emergency response.

When seconds matter and systems are overwhelmed, coordination is everything.

A centralized coordination center with real time visibility into bed availability, service capacity, and regional resources creates the kind of situational awareness that emergency management teams need during mass casualty incidents and large scale events. It allows for faster decisions, better resource allocation, and ultimately better outcomes for patients.

At Arizona REACH, we are building more than a referral coordination system. We are building infrastructure that can support both everyday care and extraordinary moments of crisis.

In the weeks and months ahead, we will continue to expand our emergency preparedness capabilities and strengthen our partnerships to ensure we are ready when it matters most.

From nursing leadership to emergency management without missing a beat.

After wrapping up the AONL Conference, we’re sending Charley Larsen & Valentino Shepard straight to Jekyll Island, Georgia for the Georgia Emergency Management Summit. As the AZ REACH Program continues to grow, our focus is expanding beyond coordination into how we support communities during times of crisis.

We are here to listen, learn, and collaborate with partners across the country, while sharing how Arizona is building a more connected, responsive system of care when it matters most.

Yesterday, the Arizona House Health & Human Services Committee voted 11–1 to advance HB2180, supporting continued funding for the AZ REACH program.

At Blackbox Healthcare Solutions, we are proud to support AZ REACH and the mission of strengthening statewide coordination so patients can access the right level of care when and where it is needed.

We are grateful for the thoughtful, bipartisan engagement from committee members and for the frontline clinical leaders who shared real world perspectives during testimony. Their voices reinforce why coordinated transfer infrastructure matters, especially for rural, tribal, and small hospitals across Arizona.

This vote reflects confidence in a model that has proven its value and underscores our responsibility to continue listening, collaborating, and improving alongside hospitals, clinicians, and state leaders.
