🙏 🙌 Today, our team proudly stood alongside incredible community partners in support of individuals working to rebuild their lives through recovery, accountability, and hope.

Our Veterans Court Liaison Jeremiah Winn, and Charles Shields, Sanctuary's JTOP Supervisor, joined Commissioner Marderosian of Drug Treatment Court, as we came together in service of this important mission.

Partnerships like these are where real change begins — not only through treatment, but through connection, consistency, mentorship, and people who are willing to walk alongside someone until they can stand strong on their own.

The courtroom does not have to be the end of someone’s story. For many, it becomes the place where healing begins and a new chapter starts.

Sanctuary Recovery Centers is honored to be partnering with St.Mary’s Food Bank and Maricopa County in support of the 2026 Heat Relief Effort here in the Valley.

Arizona summers can be dangerous, especially for vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness, recovery challenges, or limited access to resources. We believe recovery is about more than treatment—it’s about showing up for our community in practical ways that save lives and restore hope.

Through this partnership, we are committed to helping provide hydration, support, resources, and compassionate care to those who need it most during this extreme heat season.

Peer Support Specialist will play a vital role in providing empathetic support, encouragement, and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges. Drawing upon their own lived experiences, the Peer Support Specialist will serve as a mentor and advocate, fostering empowerment and resilience among clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with individuals in the community who are experiencing mental health challenges, offering peer support and encouragement in a non-judgmental manner.
Establish trusting and supportive relationships with clients, serving as a role model and mentor in their recovery journey.
Provide one-on-one peer support sessions, facilitating discussions, and sharing personal experiences to offer hope, empathy, and validation.
Assist clients in identifying their strengths, goals, and values, and support them in developing personalized recovery plans.
Collaborate with other members of the Community Outreach Team to connect clients with appropriate resources, including mental health services, housing assistance, employment opportunities, and social support networks.
Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are addressed within the community and service systems.
Lead or co-facilitate community events focused on mental health education, self-care, and peer support.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
Document client interactions, progress, and outcomes accurately and timely in accordance with organizational protocols.

Sanctuary Recovery Centers proudly presented at the Arizona Supreme Court's Emerging Adult Summit, alongside the powerful research and insights of Dr. Jeannie Von Stoltz and Dr. Adam Fine.

The message was clear: emerging adults need more than traditional probation practices. Because of their developmental stage, they thrive when met with approaches that are collaborative, responsive, and designed around their unique needs.

We were proud to share how Sanctuary's C.O.R.E. program through peer support, case management, and integrated mental health and substance use treatment helps emerging adults navigate health risks and social needs. Combined with JTOP, a treatment court led by one of the most dynamic probation teams we've had the privilege of partnering with, and working alongside probation and so many others, it makes a perfect combination for success. Their commitment to community-based support is what makes a true whole-health model possible.
