More than a century later, the Titanic still gives curious minds plenty to explore. 🚢

La Siena residents recently explored the Titanic exhibit, getting a closer look at the ship itself, the people who traveled aboard it, and the individual stories that have kept its history compelling for more than a century.

It definitely gave our history buffs a lot to dig into while leaving everyone else with something new to discover. We recommend a visit!

Our Roaring ’20s party brought out the fringe, feathers, and dapper style in honor of the Jazz Age. With everyone dressed for the decade, La Siena looked ready for a night at the hottest spot in town.

One thing’s for sure: this crew knows how to put the “roar” in Roaring ’20s!

That’s what stood out to Paul after his parents' first 10 months at La Siena. He can tell you about Dawn in sales, Jonathan in leadership, Carlos and the Maintenance Team, Debbie, Pam and Alexa in events, and even Walter, our transportation driver, despite the fact that his parents rarely use transportation.

Those relationships didn’t come from a single welcome or move-in weekend. They developed over time, helped by a team Paul describes as accommodating, kind and remarkably consistent.

Putting pen to paper keeps new ideas flowing at La Siena. ✍️

Professor Duane Roen leads our monthly Creative Writing program, generously volunteering his time to share a passion he’s pursued for more than five decades: teaching writing. His approach is rooted in the belief that everyone can learn to write effectively, and that no matter how much experience you have, there’s always something new to learn.

Having the right support close by can make a real difference in maintaining independence.

In Kathy's experience, physical therapists provide the accountability to keep moving, even checking in when they haven’t been on the NuStep as regularly. Knowing that support will also be available after surgery offers another layer of reassurance, all without having to rely on others every time help is needed.

It’s a support system designed to help people keep doing as much as they can for themselves. 💛

Our latest outing at La Siena had us searching the shelves for hidden gems! 🔎

We spent a couple of hours treasure hunting at St. Vincent de Paul Sunnyslope Thrift Store, browsing the shelves for one-of-a-kind finds to take home. Everyone returned with a treasure or two in hand and a successful afternoon of thrifting to talk about.

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of spotting something you didn’t know you needed until you found it!

Some of life's biggest decisions are easier to appreciate in hindsight. 🤍

Kathy recently reflected on her move to La Siena and shared the advice she now gives others: "Don't wait too long." Looking back, she wishes she and her husband had made the move earlier, so they could have spent even more time building friendships and enjoying community life together.
