Strike a Pose: Reverse Warrior (Viparita Virabhadrasana)

Unleash your inner strength and find your flow with Reverse Warrior! Back arching gracefully and reach high—this empowering posture is all about creating space, opening your heart, and standing strong in who you are.

Why We Love Reverse Warrior:

Opens the Torso: Deeply stretches the side body, intercostal muscles, and lungs—helping you take fuller, deeper breaths.

Strengthens the Legs: Builds stability through the hips, thighs, and ankles while grounding down into the mat.

Relieves Stress: Releases tension in the spine and neck, inviting a sense of peaceful energy.

Never done yoga before? You belong here!

Yoga isn't about being flexible or perfecting every shape—it’s about taking a moment for yourself, honoring your body where it is today, and breathing through life's everyday busyness. Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the very first time or have been practicing for years, our community is here to welcome you with open arms and zero judgment.

Come as you are, move at your own pace, and let’s grow together!

Meet the Teacher!

We’re absolutely thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our incredible instructors, Kris Massey! A long-time friend and supporter of Yoga’s Arc, Kris is a valued member of our yoga community. We’re so excited that she shares her amazing gifts and passion for yoga with all of us as an instructor, helping so many people find strength, peace, and well-being on their mats!

Here’s a little bit about Kris…

Kris has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. What started as a way to de-stress after a hard workday became a lifestyle as she moved on to a regular 5am ashtanga mysore class. It took a pandemic and a hip replacement to make her finally realize she needed to pursue a long-neglected goal to complete her YTT. She completed her 200hr certification in 2021 and will complete her 300hr certification in June 2024, both with My Vinyasa Practice. She has also completed level 1 and 2 sound meditation certification through the Sound Healing Academy. She loves to collect singing bowls and other instruments, and share that love in her yoga classes. For the past two years she has been teaching a weekly class for members of her community. While she loves her little groups of yogis, she is excited to branch out and work with a wider community through Yogas Arc.

While vinyasa is her main teaching style, she has really learned to love teaching yin, restorative, and yoga nidra, weaving a little sound into all of these more restful practices.

Happy Sunday Vibes!

There is a famous quote by the Stoic philosopher Epictetus that says, “Circumstances don't make the man, they only reveal him to himself.”

It’s a deep concept to chew on, but when I look at it, I see a bit of a chicken-or-the-egg scenario. I truly believe that God places specific circumstances in our lives, from the highest peaks to the lowest valleys, to intentionally shape who He wants us to be and prepare us for our unique purpose. So, are we just revealed by what happens to us, or are we being actively formed? I think it is both, and it all comes down to our willingness to receive.

When we are open to our purpose, the circumstances that cross our path take on a completely different meaning. We start to look for the lessons behind them. Even if we don’t understand the why right in the messy middle of a hardship, we have faith that one day it will all make sense.

This is where our practice comes in. Whether it’s yoga, meditation, prayer, or simply taking a pause, we use these tools to literally breathe through the situation. We stay present, feel what we need to feel, and notice the physical sensations and reactions in our bodies so we can journal, reflect, and grow.

But for the people who don't do that, the outcome looks very different. Without reflection, circumstances easily breed anger, pride, rage, and denial. It is that exact lack of presence that causes conflict and pain in our families, communities, and the world at large, leading to everything from broken marriages to wars.

The circumstances themselves are never who you are. Wealth, impact, poverty, or loss are just the environment, and it depends entirely on your frame of mind and how you handle them.

Even positive circumstances like sudden wealth can ruin a person if they aren't grounded. No matter what season of life you find yourself in today, the assignment remains the same. It goes back to the old proverb: chop wood, carry water. No matter what, we have to stay humble, be kind, serve our purpose, and make the world a better place. Amen.

With love and freedom,

Kary Sinkule Founder, Yoga’s Arc

Meet the Behind the Scenes Staff!

Meet Aubrey Jones! Aubrey brings unfailing support to our behind-the-scenes team as a Marketing Assistant while sharing her love of yoga as an instructor! We're so proud she completed her 200 & 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training right here with Yoga’s Arc—her dedication on the mat reflects the same passion she brings behind the scenes every day.

Here’s a little bit about Aubrey…

Aubrey’s first experience with yoga was through a cable TV program over 20 years ago. She practiced early in the morning in her tiny living room before her small children woke up. At the time, she could barely reach past her knees in a forward fold and found sitting cross-legged uncomfortable. Yet, she kept returning to the class.

Over the years, Aubrey continued practicing yoga while raising four young kids as a stay-at-home mom. She cherished the moments of respite yoga provided. As she became more flexible, she began attending classes at a local studio, where she initially felt uncomfortable because she wasn’t “good at yoga.” However, her determination kept her going. Though she didn’t initially feel skilled, the positive feeling after each class was enough to keep her coming back. Over time, she developed a deep appreciation for the physical strength, balance, and inner peace yoga offers.

Aubrey is passionate about health and wellness. With a degree in Human Biology, she is a scientist, a medical intuitive with nearly 10 years of experience, and a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor. She excels at identifying challenges for her clients and providing effective solutions. Aubrey is married, has four children, and a dog, and has lived in the Phoenix area for 25 years.

Happy Sunday Vibes!

“If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up.” - J.M. Power.

As a CEO who listened to the calling to start a mobile yoga company and all of its branches, I had absolutely no idea how awake I actually needed to be to make it successful.

This entire journey has been a dream come true. I read a lot of books about building businesses—how to sustain, how to scale, and how to lead—and they all point back to one undeniable truth: if you don't do the deep work to become completely, 100% in tune with yourself, where you came from, where you’ve been, and where you’re going, you will hit a wall. There is simply no way you can run a company if you can’t run your own life first.

You have to become the CEO of your own life before anything else. That means finding your non-negotiable self-care, fiercely setting your boundaries, and doing the hard internal work to learn what your true purpose is.

Once you master that self-leadership, you just have to follow your heart, surround yourself with the people who truly believe in you, and trust your higher power. It will happen. The dreams really do come true, but only when we are willing to wake up and do the work.

What is one boundary you need to set this week to become the true CEO of your own life? If you are ready to take charge of your life, find your deeper purpose, and step fully into your leadership potential, it just takes a few tweaks now to make a huge difference later.

With love and freedom,

Kary Sinkule Founder, Yoga’s Arc
