The Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona is nonpartisan, but the work we do is political. We represent more than 9,000 Arizona fire fighters, and we fight for what matters most to them and their families. In this race, the choice is clear: one candidate stands with fire fighter issues, and one does not.
Governor Hobbs, thank you for joining us and for standing with us year after year. We will always support those who support fire fighters.
Thank you to every fire fighter who came out to early vote at our event for a governor with a proven record of protecting those who protect Arizona’s communities. If you haven’t voted yet, make your voice heard. Election Day is November 3.

As you head to the polls, we invite you to consider these candidates. This isn’t a directive. Your vote is yours, and we simply ask that you give these candidates your thoughtful consideration. They’ve earned our support, and we’re proud to share them with you.

We don’t make endorsements in every race, and some candidates choose not to seek our endorsement, so you won’t find every name here. Don’t forget to vote November 3, or send in your ballot by October 23.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Studies show breast cancer contraction among female firefighters is roughly 45% higher than in the general population, and women firefighters show higher levels of PFAS, chemicals linked to cancer.
In 2021, your helped add breast cancer to Arizona’s cancer presumption list for firefighters. We’re not done. We’ll keep fighting for Arizona firefighters, on and off duty.

Your team met with our law enforcement partners at the quarterly Public Safety Alliance meeting to talk about the long-term security of those who risk their lives to protect our communities.

These regular conversations matter. They keep firefighters and law enforcement on the same page, so when future legislation comes up, we're already aligned and moving in the same direction.

The Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona pauses today to honor the members who gave their lives to the fire service and the communities they served, and who died in 2025 in the line of duty or from occupational cancer. Their names will be placed on the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial today, where they will remain in tribute to the duty and sacrifice they gave.

To the families of the fallen, thank you for your sacrifice. And to our brothers and sister: rest easy. We'll take it from here.

Never Forget

It's more than a phrase. Today we remember the 343 New York City firefighters and one Fire Patrolman who made the ultimate sacrifice while saving lives at the World Trade Center. Doing the job of all firefighters, putting the lives of strangers before their own. We will never forget their sacrifice, their courage, and their legacy.

The Professional Fire fighters of Arizona wish everyone a safe and Happy Labor Day.

Today, and every day, the over nine thousand members are on the front lines protecting communities across Arizona. Their dedication never takes a day off, and neither does ours. The PFFA team is proud to stand behind our members, working every day to support them and build a stronger future for the fire fighters who come after them.

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month. Firefighters are 50% more likely to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma, 14% more likely to develop leukemia, and 50% more likely to die of some cancers compared to the general population.
These three blood cancers are covered under Arizona’s firefighter presumptive cancer legislation, along with several non-blood cancers. The dangers of firefighting extend far beyond the calls and emergencies we respond to. It’s important to get screened for cancer and keep up with annual medical evaluations.
