Only profession that doesn’t account for inflation. Year after year reimbursements get cut while cost of living and overhead go up. We do the same work, as last year, more efficient, less complications, better technologies, and government and lobbyists decide to pay us less and less. The Surgeon gets paid the least out of anesthesia, device rep, and hospital administrators as our surgery fee does not just include the surgery, but ALL follow up for 90 days! 90 days, office visits, surgeries, phone calls, etc for 7-800 bucks. This next round of cuts will drive surgeons to retire as we move towards more socialized medicine……interested in your comments! 😉
