After two and a half years…. It is with absolute joy that I announce my return back to the West Valley. My home. My community. The place that is very near and dear to my heart.

I will officially be seeing patients in Goodyear @ Advanced Women’s Care and delivering back @ The Nest at Abrazo West!

It is with the most gratitude that I say goodbye to my temporary home Premier OB/GYN, LLC. Thank you so much Dr Hervey and Ellie for taking me in when I felt that I had no home. Thank you for all the support and coverage and love. Thank you for teaching me so much about what autonomous informed consent. There is no one who can touch your VBAC rates. Your patience and skill with multiples is something I have pocketed and will take with me everywhere I go. Thank you for supporting me in my training of breech birth and vacuums…. And lastly all my newly acquired first assist skills. I will always be indebted and grateful for our time together and the respect and love you extended me at my time with Premier.

My last call shift will be 10/1 at BUMC and my first day in the west valley is 10/5.

Please know that whether you’re coming with me to the west or finding a new provider at Premier…. You cannot lose and your care and transition should be seamless.

Thank you to all my patients and colleagues who’ve supported me through all my transitions. This is an exciting new venture and I look forward to diving into all our dreams and plans for a beautiful midwifery led team out of a small community hospital in the heart of Goodyear.

Love, Tracy and Evelin

Happy birthday to my sweet Evelin. My ride or die. The person who keeps MDM alive and well and me as on time as you can keep another human being. I’m sorry that this post is a day late. I was on call this weekend and of course finding a picture of Evelin is not an easy task. She’s the person behind the lens on all the pictures on here, but she doesn’t let me flip that around very often.

I can’t believe you’re 27 you were just a babe when I met you and you still actually are. Just a little bit wiser. You’re such a good mom, it’s been fun to watch you grow into motherhood so well.

I get tearful when I think about our journey together, the girls say you’re my paid for Bestie. That might not be wrong, but I know you don’t get paid enough so that tells me that you’re where you wanna be or at least for now.

Thank you for sticking alongside me for so many years, I can’t even imagine what a day look like without you …. Actually, I have and it’s. awful. 🤣🤣🤣

Anyhow… if you see this lady today spoil her. And tell her much she means to you.

Love you Ev ❤️

☀️ Arizona summers bring extreme heat, and pregnancy in Arizona heat requires extra awareness and care. When temperatures stay above 100°F—even overnight—your body works harder to regulate temperature. During pregnancy, this added stress can increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related strain on your body. ☀️

☀️ Research suggests that prolonged exposure to extreme heat during pregnancy is a risk factor associated with adverse outcomes such as preterm birth, hypertensive disorders, and possibly stillbirth. Importantly, heat exposure does not directly cause these outcomes, but it can contribute to overall stress on the body. This highlights the importance of hydration during pregnancy and practicing summer pregnancy safety—especially in hot climates like Arizona. ☀️

💧 Top Hydration & Summer Pregnancy Safety Tips for Arizona Moms:

Prioritize hydration during pregnancy by drinking water consistently throughout the day—not just when you feel thirsty. Aim for pale yellow urine as a sign of proper hydration.

✅ Add electrolytes if you’re sweating heavily or spending time outdoors. Electrolyte balance is key for preventing dehydration in pregnancy.

✅ Stay in air-conditioned environments whenever possible, especially during peak heat hours 10 AM–6 PM.

✅ Limit outdoor activity during extreme heat. Choose early mornings, evenings, or indoor exercise options to stay safe.

✅ Wear lightweight, breathable clothing and use cooling tools like fans, misting bottles, or cooling towels.

✅ Eat hydrating foods such as watermelon, cucumbers, berries, oranges, and leafy greens to support fluid intake.

✅ Listen to your body and rest often. Pregnancy increases your body’s workload, and heat adds additional strain.

❤️ Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Protect your pregnancy during extreme heat. ❤️

The Truth about birth is this. It is hard. It will be one of the biggest challenges of your life. Whether you go unmedicated, you get an epidural, or you end up with a cesarean…. The cost of birth is pain. You will not have a pain free birth and I wish that people would stop telling women they can.

Anything as precious as life will cost you something. The greatest love of your life has another side to the coin. With love there is pain. With life there is death. With birth there is a shedding of your old self. ...

The veil between two worlds is fragile. The moments before the first breath is an eternity. The price we pay for life is a heavy one. Anyone who tells you that you’ll come out unscathed is lying to you. It demands your growth. The woman you were before birth must die, in order to become what motherhood will demand.

What you gain and who you will become, will surprise you.

Trust it. Prepare for it. And choose wisely who you surround yourself with along the way. It matters more than you know.

It’s not about intensity.
It’s not about competition.
It’s about showing up everyday and sweating. Lifting. And doing hard things.
It’s about the community.
It’s about training yourself to do hard things regularly.
It’s about your mental and physical health.

Do you exercise?
Do you have a community of people you a connected too and care about?
Do you nourish your body with Whole Foods?
Do you find joy each day, laugh often, and cry regularly?

If not here’s an invite. To my community. To my gym. Our doors are always open.

30% of pregnancies have a SCH. Cool study to show and support the impact of nutrition on these bleeds.

Strength training isn’t just about looking strong—it’s about protecting your future. 💪

For women in midlife, lifting weights has been shown to:
• Increase and preserve muscle mass (which naturally declines with age)
• Support metabolic health and insulin sensitivity
• Improve bone density
• And even reduce the risk of cognitive decline, including Alzheimer’s disease

Muscle isn’t vanity—it’s longevity.
Your workouts today are an investment in your brain, your independence, and your quality of life down the road.

It’s never too late to start lifting. In fact, this is the most important time to do it.

💪
