Alzheimer's Prevention Registry We can end Alzheimer's disease without losing another generation. Will you help? www.endalznow.org

We are launching the new era of Alzheimer's prevention research. With more than 35 million people suffering worldwide, Alzheimer's disease is an unacceptable problem with an catastrophic toll. We need to find effective ways to reduce the risk of developing symptoms or prevent it as quickly as possible. The Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative is intended to do just that. It is our belief that the greatest roadblocks to ending Alzheimer's are current scientific methods, funding mechanisms and public policies that need to be put in place to allow us to evaluate the most promising prevention therapies as quickly as possible. This effort is being led by Eric Reiman, MD, and Pierre Tariot, MD, from the Banner Alzheimer's Institute, in collaboration with the Arizona Alzheimer's Consortium (link to page) and other academic, scientific and industry partners around the world. The Alzheimer's Prevention Initiative plans to study the most promising Alzheimer's treatments in people at highest risk of Alzheimer’s in prevention trials.

The end of an Alzheimer’s clinical trial sets off a coordinated series of steps that affect both participants and the scientific community. Trial teams close out participant involvement and analyze the data to prepare for the public release of the findings. Read on to learn more about how this unfolds in Alzheimer’s research. https://bit.ly/4tGQDXD

For years, the most reliable way to measure Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers has been through expensive and largely inaccessible brain scanning. Now, we have blood tests available. A traditional venous blood draw works, but from a practicality standpoint, it remains a challenge. New research demonstrates the promise of dried blood spots that have the potential to be collected in the comfort of someone’s home. Read on to learn more about this important study.
