Living with chronic back or leg pain that hasn't responded to other treatments? Spinal cord implant therapy is worth understanding.

This FDA-approved, non-drug therapy uses a small implanted device to interrupt pain signals before they reach the brain, helping many patients reduce their reliance on oral pain medication and its side effects.

At Desert Spine and Sports Physicians, our physiatrists and pain management physicians evaluate each patient carefully to determine whether this option fits their broader care plan.

If you've tried physical therapy, medications, or injections for disc-related back pain and haven't found lasting relief, you may have heard about orthobiologics, treatments like PRP and BMAC that use your body's own healing components to support tissue repair.

The research is genuinely encouraging: studies show meaningful pain reduction for many patients, with some benefits lasting years. But the evidence is still evolving, and results can vary depending on patient selection and treatment preparation.

Our fellowship-trained physiatrists and pain management physicians review your imaging and treatment history individually, so you understand both the potential and the current limits of these treatments before deciding if they're right for you.

Facet joint pain often gets mistaken for general back stiffness, but it's a distinct, treatable source of pain along the spine.

There's more than one way to approach it. Steroid injections can offer fast, targeted relief and help confirm that the joint is the source of the pain. Regenerative options like PRP work differently, supporting the joint's long-term function as healing builds gradually over time.
The right choice depends on your symptoms, history, and goals, which is why an evaluation matters.

Our board-certified, fellowship-trained physiatrists and pain management physicians can help you compare your options with clarity and confidence.

Is PRP FDA-approved? Dr. Tima Le answers one of the most common questions we hear from patients considering regenerative treatment.

Our fellowship-trained physiatrists and pain management physicians evaluate whether PRP is appropriate based on your specific diagnosis before recommending it.

Do you have chronic low back pain that hasn't responded to other treatments? It may be coming from within the vertebra itself, a source known as vertebrogenic pain.

Intracept™ is currently the only procedure designed specifically to treat this type of pain. It's implant-free, done as a same-day procedure with brief recovery, and clinical data show long-term relief after a single treatment.

At Desert Spine and Sports Physicians, our physiatrists and pain management physicians evaluate each patient carefully to determine whether this option fits their broader care plan.
