Red, itchy, watery, or crusty eyes? 👁️ Pinkeye can be viral, bacterial, or allergy-related—and the right care depends on the cause.

For mild symptoms:

✅ Wash your hands before and after touching your face
✅ Use a clean, cool compress for irritation
✅ Use a warm washcloth to gently remove crusting
✅ Avoid sharing towels, pillows, makeup, or eye drops
✅ Stop wearing contact lenses until medically cleared

Never use leftover antibiotics or homemade remedies in the eye.

Seek same-day care for eye pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, significant swelling, fever, injury, or symptoms in a contact lens wearer. For chemical exposure, rinse the eye with clean, lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes and seek urgent evaluation.

Tri-County Urgent Care offers walk-in evaluation seven days a week for common eye symptoms and other non-emergency illnesses.

🔒 Is Telemedicine Confidential?

Many patients appreciate the convenience of virtual care—but it’s natural to wonder how private a telemedicine visit really is.

In most cases, telemedicine with a legitimate health care provider is protected much like an in-person visit. Your conversation becomes part of your medical record, and HIPAA privacy protections generally apply.

There are still important things patients should know—especially when using insurance, sharing devices, receiving an Explanation of Benefits (EOB), or seeking care for alcohol or opioid use concerns.

Our newest article explains:

• How HIPAA applies to telemedicine
• What information may appear on insurance records
• Whether employers can access your medical information
• How to make your virtual visit more private
• Additional confidentiality considerations for addiction medicine

📱 Telemedicine can provide convenient, respectful access to medical care while helping patients receive treatment from a setting where they feel comfortable.
