Sugar Ration Legacy
Researchers studied 64,761 UK-born people and compared those exposed to sugar rationing in their first 1,000 days with those who were not.
The rationed group had lower cancer risk later in life: liver cancer down 69%, prostate 52%, lung 41%, re**al 40% and breast 36%.
They also had longer telomeres, equal to about 2.2 fewer years of biological aging.
The researchers said the group still ate less sugar and smaller, more varied diets five decades later.
