Summer has been a busy one around here!

We took a little vacation, my own mare recently moved to a new barn, and apparently the Pennsylvania bugs decided she needed to be their next all-you-can-eat buffet. The bugs have really been eating her up!

I also managed to squeeze in some time around horses while I was away — and now I’m back in my very glamorous equine dentistry attire, sweating my way through August.

As summer starts winding down, I’m getting back into the regular schedule and filling up my late-summer and early-fall appointments.

If your horse is due for a float, now is a great time to get on the schedule before fall gets crazy.

I really do love horses, and I feel pretty lucky that I get to spend my days working with them. Even when I’m sweating through my clothes!

This heat wave has everything moving a little slower than usual, and I’m just taking things day by day to keep horses as comfortable as possible.

The horses are definitely feeling it too — this pony has fully committed to melting into the stall door, which honestly feels like the correct response.

I’ve also been sneaking in quick pool resets between barn calls just to cool off and keep going in this humidity.

Horses always come first, and I’ll continue to adjust as needed around the weather and each barn’s situation. If your horse is due, just reach out.

One thing I love about equine dentistry is that there is always more to learn!

Thursday I had the opportunity to have my friend and mentor, Paul Drake, ride along with me for the day. With more than 20 years of experience in equine dentistry, Paul has been incredibly generous with his time and knowledge over the years, and I'm very grateful for his kindness, encouragement, and willingness to support others in this field.

We spent the day discussing cases, reviewing cases together, talking dentistry, and sharing ideas. Having the perspective of an experienced mentor is invaluable, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to continue learning and refining my skills.

I believe good horse care comes from staying curious, continuing to learn, and never getting too proud to ask questions. The horses deserve our very best, and I'm committed to continuing my education and growth as a practitioner.

Very thankful for the horses, the clients, and the people who help me become a better practitioner every day.

I really love this work — and I especially love any chance I get to share it with people! 😊

Recently I got to show a young horse lover what actually happens during an equine dental float, and walk through how we keep horses comfortable, balanced, and feeling their best. I also bring my own horse skull for demonstrations, which always makes things a little more real (and usually gets a few wide eyes!).

Horses are such great teachers, and I never get tired of helping people understand what’s going on in their mouths a little more clearly.

Right now I’m actively booking equine dental floating appointments! Keeping up with routine dental care really does make a huge difference in comfort, performance, and overall health.

I also offer free equine dental presentations for camps and barns — these are hands-on, educational, and honestly a lot of fun!

Spring is here, which means we’re all getting back into riding… and some horses are politely (or not so politely) reminding us they might be due for a dental.

I’m now scheduling spring appointments for Noelle Datta Equine Dentistry in Chester County and surrounding areas.

I really do love this work. There’s nothing better than helping a horse go from “chewing is questionable” to comfortable, relaxed, and back to eating like they should. I also genuinely enjoy meeting the people behind the horses — that’s a big part of what makes this job so rewarding.

Every visit is more than just a float. I take a close look at the whole mouth, including areas of irritation that can be influenced by bit pressure, diet, or overall balance — all the little things that add up to how a horse feels under saddle.

And on the less glamorous side of things… spring cleaning sometimes turns up a surprise or two. I recently removed a very impressive bean during a sheath cleaning, which was a good reminder that small things can make a big difference in comfort.

Services:
• Routine floats – $85
• Sheath cleaning – $25
• Minis welcome (I come prepared for the tiny mouths)

Hi, I’m Sugar Magnolia, aka Nolie. :)

Mom just floated my teeth today and WOW… turns out your teeth aren't supposed to stab you in the face!

Everything feels smoother, hay is easier, and I’m pretty sure I deserve extra treats for being such a good patient (just saying).

Since I’m feeling fresh and fabulous for spring, I figured I’d remind all my horse friends out there — you might be due for a dental too!

Noelle Datta Equine Dentistry is now booking spring appointments:
• Routine floats – $85
• Sheath cleaning – $25
• Minis welcome (she even has special tools just for the tiny mouths)

~ Based in Chester County, PA — servicing surrounding areas, including NJ and DE

~Text 856-261-4752 or message my human to get on the schedule

Trust me… your mouth will thank you. And your hay will never know what hit it!

— xo, Nolie
