We’re proud to have been named a winner of the South Carolina Public Health Association's 2026 Voice of Public Health Award for our work to provide the Managing Abstinence in Newborns program, or MAiN, a family-centered program for infants at risk for opioid withdrawal.
We collaborate with Clemson University, Prisma Health and the South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund to help the 3,600 babies born each year in South Carolina to mothers who used opioids during pregnancy.
MAiN Nurse Navigators provide guidance, support, education and connections to services for those mothers. Anyone interested in connecting with a MAiN Babies SC Nurse Navigator can simply call 864-870-7419 or email [email protected] to enroll or ask questions. The Nurse Navigator will make contact for next steps, like a care plan, hospital plan, breastfeeding support, treatment and recovery, community resources, and ways that family can be involved.
