This is a traditional remedy for arthritis and general joint pain. A w**e made from a formula called Guizhi Shaoyao Zhimu Tang. Patients are welcome to sample it at each visit, but be forewarned! It is for adventurous palates only! You have never tasted anything like this. I like it, but I have definitely honed my herbal taste buds over the years!

One of my favorite preparations for general pain and arthritis is a classical formula called Guizhi shaoyao zhimu tang. Powdered herbs are combined with rice w**e and soaked for a month or so, then strained. A great remedy if your pain worsens in the winter or bad weather.

I highly recommend innoculating some shiitake logs. These have been providing us with fresh mushrooms for almost 4 years. There is nothing better than shiitakes cooked in garlic butter with a splash of soy sauce.

Meet Danshen! One of my favorite herbs, and I am so glad it loves to grow on my farm!

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Hope yours was as awesome as mine! We got our first lamb of the year. He is half Valais and half merino. A special boy for sure.

In Chinese medicine, there are many aspects to seasonal observation. In the West, we have solstices and equinox to mark the lunar periods. Ancient China also has a complex lunar calendar, but another layer as well: the solar nodes. Every two weeks, there is a new solar node. Within each node, there is an ideal activity, specific plants to harvest, festivals, foods to eat, and exercises to help guide you through the year with ease.
We just began the first solar node of the year: Li Chun, or Spring Begins. This is the most festive time of year, and I suppose that helps transition us out of the winter doldrums and prepare us for the glory of spring. Eat dandelion greens, watercress, spinach, and chickweed.
It is a time to renew relationships, for we will surely need that to help us in the coming year.
This is the time of year for hope and dreams, and is a great time to pursue your visions and projects. But don’t move too fast! You need to pace yourself and conserve your energy for the bright spring and summer ahead!

Give us a call if you would like to explore how we can help you in your healing journey!
