The extent to which unacknowledged allergies can affect your daily health is mind-boggling!!
I want to talk about something that has personally been affecting me for the last several years... I had no idea why my body had become so sensitive over time. It was a daily thing to discover new allergies in my diet. It got so bad, my husband would have to ask me what I was allergic to today to decide on dinner! I was on a rollercoaster of chaos between aches, pains, stiffness, anxiety, itching and dry, cracked skin.... digestive disturbances, bowel issues, menstrual problems.... asthma attacks happened randomly, fatigue and odors became a nuisance... I was falling apart! I couldn't help but feel beat down since I had been trying so hard to clean up my diet and had started exercising and yet everything just seemed to get worse.
Finally, one day I broke out in hives everywhere my bra and panties had elastic on them and I knew what it was... a Latex Allergy! I had no idea how deep and extensive the problem went and that my symptoms were all inner-connected, because no one had ever told me this could affect someone on all these other levels as well as hives or anaphylaxis....
I did what I always do when I get on a thread of knowledge and I pulled and pulled until all the information unravelled.
I realized how latex allergies are often undiagnosed because they truly do not have reliable testing and doctors avoid the subject except in cases of an acute attack that is completely recognizable and virtually undeniable...
I am here to tell you, there are so many contributing factors to this issue, which are never fully explained to patients by our medical community and seldom explained even to diagnosed latex allergy sufferers for proper management of their condition.
So, here is a list of factors to consider if you are or believe you may be latex sensitive:
1) cross-reactive foods (lots of fruits and vegies)
2) clothing containing spandex and elastin (name brand leggings and athletic wear)
3) technology covers/ watchbands and earbuds
4) baby items
5) rubber balls and toys
6) feminine supplies/ bladder control products
7) make up/ lacy lingerie
8)anything with elastic or rubber
9) fumes (tires, old tennis shoes, factories)
10) prophylactics/ sexual toys
I am sure even I have forgotten a few...
If you have ever had random symptoms like mine and with no real explanation, think latex allergy, it might just change your life!
I know it changed mine♡ And, knowing is half the battle. Get in touch with me for possible confirmation through muscle testing and to learn my full regimen to relieve symptoms and potentially remiss the allergy over a short period of time.
