Hot weather can be especially challenging for older adults, but a few simple precautions can help make summer days safer and more comfortable.

💧 Tips for keeping cool:
- Drink fluids regularly throughout the day, unless a physician has recommended fluid restrictions.
- Stay indoors in air-conditioned or comfortably cool spaces during extreme heat.
- Plan walks and outdoor activities for the cooler morning or evening hours.
- Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
- Close blinds or curtains when direct sunlight is heating up the home.
- Choose shaded areas when spending time outdoors.
- Take frequent breaks and avoid overexertion in hot weather.
