When Altman Eye Center opened its doors in 2022, our vision was simple: bring world-class eye care to the people of Eastern Kentucky without them having to leave home. Today, with three locations, an incredible team, and thousands of patients who have trusted us with their care, we are humbled to receive this recognition.

🎉 Dr. Taylor Keathley joins Altman Eye Center! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce Dr. Keathley is joining the Altman Eye Center team and will begin seeing patients this August!

A graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry and a proud native of Jenkins, Kentucky, Dr. Keathley is passionate about providing compassionate, comprehensive eye care to the community she calls home. As a first-generation doctor, returning to serve the region that helped shape her journey is especially meaningful.
In addition to caring for patients in the clinic, Dr. Keathley enjoys creating educational eye care content on social media to help make eye health easier to understand and more accessible for everyone.

Please join us in giving Dr. Keathley a warm welcome! We are excited for our patients and community to get to know her and experience the exceptional care she'll provide.

A huge thank you to Samaritan’s Purse for spending the weekend serving the people of Eastern Kentucky!

Dr. McKenzie Akers and Dr. Turner Altman were honored to serve as the optometrist for the vision services during this incredible outreach effort. We were blessed to help so many members of our community, and none of it would have been possible without the countless volunteers who worked tirelessly to allow us to reach as many people as possible.

From registration and logistics to patient care and everything in between, these selfless individuals made a tremendous impact. We only wish we had taken photos with all the volunteers! Their dedication, compassion, and servant hearts allowed us to reach far more people than we ever could have on our own.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to make this weekend such a success. Eastern Kentucky is stronger because of people like you.

After our recent post about the frames we sent to Nicaragua, many of you have asked how to donate glasses!
If you would like to help with our next project, we have these clear donation boxes located at the front door of both our Pikeville and Prestonsburg offices. We are gratefully accepting any glasses that you are no longer using.
