The Masterson Method Gathering was full of incredible presenters including Gillian Higgins, Lucie Klassen, Daniel Dauphin, Josh Milburn, Walter Saxe, and of course Jim Masterson. It was also filled with many amazing MMCPs and fieldwork students from around the globe. This was an inspirational 3 days of learning and connecting at the beautiful Unicorn Equestrian Center.
Many thanks to all who made this possible ❤️ 🐎

We’re excited to introduce Kalin Finsand as a new member of the Best Horse Practices Summit Board, serving as our Secretary! 🎉

Kalin is a Certified Masterson Method Practitioner for Equine & Canine, as well as an instructor, coach, and mentor. Her journey into animal bodywork grew from a lifelong passion for horses and dogs, combined with her background in martial arts, yoga, Eastern medicine, and a deep commitment to continued education.

She is a member of NBCAAM, PATH Intl., The Society of Master Saddlers, and the American Association of Biological Anthropologists, and she is currently pursuing a degree in Equine Behavior and Animal-Assisted Therapy.

Kalin brings a wonderfully diverse perspective to BHPS, with a genuine passion for learning, collaboration, and exploring innovative ideas across the equine industry.

She and her partner live in Northern California’s Gold Country with their equine, canine, feline, and feathered family. Outside of her work, you’ll find Kalin enjoying a variety of equestrian activities, hiking with her dogs, leading fitness classes, and—true to form—continuing her education.

We’re thrilled to have Kalin bringing her experience, curiosity, and passion for lifelong learning to the BHPS board. Please join us in welcoming Kalin! ❤️🐴

Introducing our new Board President, Daniel Dauphin of Dauphin Horsemanship!

Daniel has trained horses for three decades. He earned a B.S. in Animal Science from Louisiana Technical University. He has been working as a clinician since 2012. He’s best known for his bitting video, online course, and presentations. He’s also written many articles and has a podcast where he and guests work up figurative wet saddle pads on the issues of the day.

Daniel presented at the 2022 Summit and appreciates the Summit’s goal of bringing truth seekers and advocates together for the betterment of our horses.

He was a part of the pilot group for Buck The Trend, a sister initiative of the Best Horse Practices Summit, dedicated to supporting the mental health of agricultural workers, farmers, ranchers, and horse professionals. Daniel is committed to carrying the Summit forward while also helping support the important work of Buck the Trend.

We're excited to have Daniel as our Board President. He is a big reason why BHPS is still going strong.

Stay tuned for more introductions of our newly formed Board of Directors.

🎉 🎉 Please Welcome Our New Board Vice President — Kimberly A. Loveless! 🎉

We are excited to welcome Kimberly as the new Vice President of the Best Horse Practices Summit!

Kimberly has been part of BHPS since the beginning, serving on the Steering Committee since 2019. Her years of involvement and commitment to the Summit make this next step into leadership especially meaningful.

Kimberly’s journey with horses began almost before she could walk. After an early career training Thoroughbreds and showing Hunter/Jumpers, and nearly 30 years in Federal Service, she returned to her passion for horses and founded Gin Lot Farms, LLC in Virginia.

Since adopting her first Mustangs in 2007, Kimberly and her husband have specialized in gentling and training American Mustangs. Her goal is to help other adopters succeed while building harmonious relationships with their horses. She believes in treating each horse as an individual and keeping their mental and physical well-being at the forefront of training.

Today, Kimberly enjoys dressage and hacking her horses, while also continuing her work with Mustangs, an OTTB, and a young eventing prospect.

We are thrilled to have Kimberly bringing her experience, thoughtful horsemanship, and years of dedication to BHPS into this leadership role.

Please join us in welcoming Kimberly as our new Vice President! ❤️🐴

Meet Our New Treasurer: Kristin Wilbur 🎉

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the Best Horse Practices Summit Board—our new Treasurer, Kristin Wilbur!

Her love of horses began at just two years old, when her grandfather put her on a blind horse and left her there for hours while he worked in the pasture. That early introduction clearly stuck—she caught the horse-lover virus and, as she says, still hasn’t been able to shake it! 😄

Over the years, she has experienced nearly every side of the horse world, from working with multi-time world champion trainers to supporting rescue organizations that are barely hanging on. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: her commitment to the well-being of the horse.

She is a US Army Veteran, a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter, and a lifelong learner with a passion for exploring every aspect of horsemanship. Her own animal family includes two rescue horses, a mule, thirty sheep, and one very lucky dog.

We especially love her philosophy that there is no room for ego when it comes to horses. She is always willing to make mistakes, ask questions, and learn something new—and that mindset aligns beautifully with the mission of Best Horse Practices Summit.

Please join us in welcoming Kristin to the BHPS Board as our new Treasurer! We’re incredibly grateful to have her experience, curiosity, dedication, and horse-first perspective helping guide the future of BHPS. ❤️🐴

Welcome to the team!
