Heartfelt Birth Services

Heartfelt Birth Services ❇️ Holistic birth doula, student midwife, and placenta encapsulation professional serving east central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Hello! Cloud.

Some availability for doula support and generally open for placenta encapsulation: please inquire! ❇️ I'm honored to be considered as a companion for your pregnancy & birth. I support families throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I work for you, not for your caregiver or hospital. As your doula, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support and adjust my role to meet the unique

needs of your baby and family. I’m known for my calm demeanor and listening skills. I bring confidence, experience, and knowledge of pregnancy and birth; I can assist with comfort measures, suggest positions, provide emotional support, and helping you get the information you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your baby. My goal is to help you feel confident and supported, no matter what decisions you make. I attend births at the hospitals in Mora, Cambridge, Princeton, Wyoming, Moose Lake, and Aitkin, and occasionally St. In some situations I will travel farther, such as when mother or baby need a higher level of care or a local client desires more VBAC options. I also attend births at A New Story Birth Center in Milaca and homebirths in east central Minnesota within about an hour of Mora (Kanabec, Pine, Isanti, Mille Lacs, and Chisago counties) and the greater Grantsburg, WI area. As a birth and bereavement doula, I support healthy, full term births as well as miscarriage, stillbirths, and fatal diagnosis situations. I have additional training in aromatherapy for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum (BAI). My birth package includes:
--Free consultation
--1-2 prenatal visits (usually in your home) to get to know each other, discuss your vision for your birth, prepare a birth plan, provide some prenatal education, and more. I can provide resources and information, and help with any concerns you may have.
--Attendance and continuous support through your labor and birth.
--One postpartum visit to discuss your birth experience, provide baby feeding support as needed/desired, help with light tasks around your home, etc.
--On call support via phone, text, or email
--Access to my lending library of books and resources
and more! If you are interested a free consultation, please contact me and I will connect with you shortly!

I'm so excited to announce that I started a midwifery apprenticeship this summer. Becoming a homebirth midwife has been a dream for many years (seriously, I can look back to my teens and see that this was meant to be!) and it's finally the right time to move forward on this path 💚 I have already learned so much and am looking forward to filling gaps in the maternity care desert in this part of Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

I recently attended my last (currently) planned hospital birth as a doula, which was bittersweet as I look ahead to supporting families at home in a new role, but I'm also feeling so thankful for the many experiences and learning I have had attending births in over twenty hospitals over the last several years -- experience I know will continue to be valuable well into the future. Hard to believe that my first doula baby is about to turn 8!

It's always a privilege to be invited to these intimate, sacred spaces where families welcome new life. Although I will primarily be focused on midwifery study in the coming years, I have some openings in my calendar for local families and repeat clients and would love to support you. And of course, still encapsulating placentas!

I was honored to meet and be instructed by Kristine earlier this year at Dr. Stu's breech training. Can't wait to see her film!

Love seeing this option becoming more common!

Love seeing this option becoming more common!

During her first C-section, Lissa Dahlheimer watched her baby be taken across the room before she could hold her. This time was different.

With a maternal-assisted C-section, Lissa helped lift her son into the world—and brought him straight to her chest.

“Being able to see and touch my baby right away was really healing,” she said.

Even in the operating room, birth should feel personal. Our Birthplace teams are here to help it feel that way. Find out more in the comments.

It's World Doula Week! If I've supported your family, would you consider leaving me a review on Google, Facebook, or DoulaMatch? Reviews strengthen my business and help me reach more families!

So thankful for this kind review from a lovely mama!

So grateful to have the opportunity to learn from the best! I loved every minute of Reteach Breech lectures and skills training this past weekend with the one and only Dr. Stu. Although some of the hands on skills are outside my current role as a doula, I'm excited to use the knowledge and networking to better support my families through breech presentation, twins, VBAC, and more.

Thank you to for hosting and teaching and to midwives Jessica and Kristine for the kind instruction!

It was a relatively quiet year due to my own pregnancy and birth, but here are some fun stats from 2025!

💚50%: Boys and girls evenly tied
💚88%: number of hospital births, up from 66% last year
💚12%: number of out of hospital births, down from 33% last year
💚7: number of hospital and births centers, compared to 16 last year
💚0: I must have extra creative clients because not one baby had a name from the top 10 list of most popular names this year 😅

Some other highlights include:
💚An en caul birth in a hospital - this is when a baby is born in an intact anmiotic sac and happens occasionally at home and birth centers, but is almost unheard of at the hospital.

💚Supporting VBAC and VBA2C moms

💚Encapsulating a lot of beautiful placentas, but the fused twin placenta was my favorite

💚 Always getting the giant "penthouse" room at St. Cloud Hospital - if you know, you know 😂

Since the birth of my sixth baby in August, I've been focusing primarily on births closer to home and am limiting travel to the cities or St. Cloud unless there are special circumstances (repeat client, you or baby need extra care, family is a really great fit, etc.). I'm looking forward to supporting more lovely families in the coming months and have open slots for a few more if you are interested in doula support. I have open availability for placenta encapsulation even if I do not attend your birth.
