Reid Heart Center Reid Heart Center, the FirstHealth Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Moore Regional Hospital features the next generation of cardiac and vascular care.

The Center is comprised of cardiothoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons and cardiologists working together to treat heart patients with the latest in technology, clinical methods and clinical trials. Our goal is to provide the best in patient care with the best possible outcomes. Features of the Reid Heart Center include:
-Five-story landmark building
-Six operating rooms with the newest technology available
-Two multi-use operating rooms for two or more procedures combined in one visit
-Twenty-three private patient rooms
-Cardiac catheterization
-Bedside registration
-Designated parking and separate, multi-story lobby

Through the generosity and foresight of Pinehurst, N.C. couple Walter and Betty Reid, the dream of a Heart Center is now a reality with opening of the Reid Heart Center, the FirstHealth Cardiac and Vascular Institute in 2011.

An important first! ❤️

Last week, the care team at Reid Heart Center completed our system's first M-TEER, a minimally invasive procedure that treats patients dealing with mitral valve regurgitation. Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (M-TEER) is great for patients who may not be candidates for more traditional mitral valve surgery. Dr. Sun Moon Kim and Dr. Stephen Davies completed our first M-TEER, but these sorts of advancements for our patients are a team effort. Congratulations to everyone who helps us deliver world-class heart care to patients in the Sandhills and beyond.

🤒 🏥 🤧 As flu activity continues to rise across the region, FirstHealth is reinforcing visitor guidelines and encouraging preventive measures to protect patients, visitors and health care teams.

Visitor restrictions are in place at all FirstHealth facilities, including our four hospitals, to reduce the spread of respiratory illness during this flu season. Some important reminders:

- Patients are limited to two visitors at a time
- No visitors under the age of 12 are permitted
- During this period of increased flu activity, visitation by immediate family only is strongly encouraged
- People with any respiratory symptoms, including cough, fever, sore throat or congestion should not visit

ICYMI: There will be some temporary changes to how patients and visitors access Reid Heart Center beginning at the end of the day Thursday, Sept. 18. For everyone's safety, the main driveway and part of the parking lot will be closed as we bring in a crane for construction work.

🅿️ 🏥 Beginning at the end of the day Thursday (Sept. 18), access to Reid Heart Center will temporarily change due to a construction project that requires a crane to be staged in the parking lot. For everyone’s safety, the main driveway and part of the parking lot will be closed during this time.

- Use the alternate driveway located to the left of Page Road Pavilion
- Patient drop-off and parking areas have temporarily shifted to the right side of the Reid Heart Center entrance
- Patient and visitor parking will be available only on the right side of the building
