One week from today, a small group of students will spend the summer solstice learning something that will support them for the rest of their lives.

I want to tell you what they will actually leave with, because I think it matters.

They will leave with their 4 initiations into the practice of Usui Reiki, which means the practice is theirs. Not borrowed. Not contingent on anything. Theirs. They will leave knowing how to give themselves a complete self-Reiki session, hand placements, sequencing, the full practice, so that the next time life feels heavy, or sleep is hard, or the nervous system needs a reset, they have something real to turn to.

They will leave having practiced on other people in a supported setting, which means they already have experience, not just knowledge.

And they will leave with a community. The people you train with in a room of 6 students become something more than classmates. They become the beginning of a practice community, and our Reiki shares keep that going long after class day.

I have been sitting with the date for this one since I put it on the calendar.

This Sunday, I am opening my doors for Usui Reiki Level I Training at Blissful Beginnings in Pinellas Park.

It is a small group, an unhurried day, and the beginning of something that has real potential to change how you move through your life.

Tonight is the night, and I am so looking forward to it.

Seventeen years in, and the sessions are still my greatest teacher. No textbook comes close.

Every person who comes in brings something different. A different story, a different place they are holding it, a different moment where something finally shifts.

I never know exactly where that shift will happen. Sometimes it is in the breath. Sometimes it is in a silence that gets a little softer. Sometimes it shows up in the eyes when someone opens them and says, "I didn't expect that."

That is the part no classroom can teach you. The body speaks its own language. You just have to learn how to listen.
