Do you love the taste of sourdough but prefer the soft fluffy texture of rustic yeast bread?
This hybrid sourdough loaf gives you the best of both.

🍞 Fluffy Rustic Sourdough Hybrid Bread

Ingredients
- 1½ cups warm water
- ¾ cup active sourdough starter
- 1 tablespoon sugar (feeds the yeast + balances sourness)
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 4–5 cups bread flour
- 1½ teaspoons salt

Directions

1. Activate the yeast
In a large bowl mix warm water, sugar, starter and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. Add oil, and salt.

3. Add flour
Mix in flour 1 cup at a time until a soft slightly tacky dough forms (usually about 4½ cups).

4. Knead
Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5. First rise
Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 60–90 minutes until doubled.

6. Shape
Form into a rustic round loaf and place on parchment or a floured baking sheet.

7. Second rise
Let rise 30–40 minutes.

8. Score + bake
Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
Slash the top with a sharp knife.

Bake 20 minutes, then reduce heat to 400°F and bake another 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
Spread butter on top to maintain softness in the crust

9. Cool (the hardest step)
Let cool at least 30 minutes before slicing.

✨ Result:
- Light fluffy interior
- Slight sourdough tang
- Rustic crust

Serve warm with butter, honey and cinnamon if you are feeling spicy…

Im packing 3 boxes…
What would you pack?!

Packing day is in full swing over here and let me tell you… it looks like a tornado hit my house 😂

This weekend the paquetería is picking up the first THREE boxes of “essentials” headed to Mexico. And when I say essentials… I mean my essentials.

I’m using those giant vacuum bags and sucking every last ounce of air out trying to maximize space like I’m competing in the Olympics of packing.

So far in the boxes:

• Yarn (because clearly I might need to crochet at any moment)• A quilt my mom made me that I refuse to leave behind• One of my sewing machines• Clothes and shoes• Towels… yes towels… because I like the cheap Walmart ones and I’m not risking it• A few other random things that may not seem necessary to anyone else… but absolutely are to me

You really learn what matters when you only have three boxes to send ahead of your entire life.

Some things make sense.Some things are sentimental.Some things are just “I don’t care what anyone says, this is coming with me.”

Now I’m curious…

If you had three boxes to send to another country with only the things you couldn’t easily replace…
