ON SELF ABANDONMENT (the one I left behind)
The one who danced and sang – the wild Child
The one you would find beside the river- on the mountain-in the forest
The animals and children surrounding her
She surrendered it all for “love“
She was deceived
But the truth in her story is that she surrendered her essence willingly
Neglecting and abandoning those most sacred parts of herself
The truth is, she saw the signs
She chose to ignore them
She created a false storyline that was built on a shaky foundation
She was the wounded one
Moving through a world of her own making
Crafted by patterns of neglect and abuse
She believed she was not worthy of anything more than what was familiar
And what was familiar is what felt safe
And this was perhaps the biggest deception
Thinking that familiarity was safety- that the pattern was love
This Web, the entanglement took decades to unravel
It required many trips to the underworld
many walks through the flame
Each descent brought more clarity, a gift from the darkness
A token, a song, an embodiment, a shift in perspective
of all the aspects of self I have excavated, she is the one I buried the deepest, and she is perhaps the most sacred
She holds the flame, the tended fire
And has kept it alive all these years
She is the one who runs with the wolves, finding her steady pacing once again
Finding the voice,
the song that has always lived in blood and bone
The night and magic beckon her
and she moves sure footed
She is the sun and the moon,
the balance of light and dark within
She has learned that to live in our truth
is to embrace all aspects of her being
All parts have found a place at her table
And all are seen as sacred
All have offered lessons
And in them all – she somehow finds peace in the pain
She somehow chooses love and beauty
In a harsh world, she somehow found solace in the sound of a crow and the harmony of a song
For this is what always brings her home✨
Keep going, keep singing, keep shining!
