I almost didn’t do this.

My ego was doing everything it could to talk me out of it.

“The waves are too big.”
“Don’t you just want to watch?”
“You’re out of shape, it will be hard.”
“You have to leave today, it’s too much.”

And honestly, I was scared.

But I didn’t listen.

I went anyway.

And I’m so glad I did.

I was surrounded by people who believed in me and kept telling me, “You can do this.” Their support made such a difference. Sometimes we need people to believe in us when we’re struggling to believe in ourselves.

And when I finally pushed past the fear, the rush was incredible. I felt so alive. So exhilarated. And so damn proud of myself.

I cried afterward—not because I was afraid, but because I realized I had just done something I almost let fear take away from me.

It reminded me how often our minds will give us a hundred reasons not to do something before we’ve even tried.

Sometimes the biggest breakthrough isn’t what happens on the other side of the fear.

It’s choosing to take the step anyway.

And sometimes, having the right people beside you makes all the difference. 🤍

Do you ever feel like something is missing… like there’s more to life than what’s being shown to you?

I was feeling a little lost before this trip to Costa Rica.

The way this trip came together was truly a trust fall. Everything seemed to fall into place so perfectly that I knew I was meant to be there.

The only thing I had to do was jump.

And so I did. 🤍

All I knew was that I was going to Costa Rica for a retreat for healers—to learn breathwork, retreat facilitation, and sound healing.

I had no idea I would be leaving with so much more.

I had struggled with traveling alone since my chronic illness, and this trip forced me to face that fear by going to another country completely on my own.

I met people who were just like me—people who want to heal themselves and help others do the same.

I learned just how powerful breathwork really is and what can happen when we combine conscious breath with mindful movement & music.

I learned that it’s okay to be on the receiving end of healing, too.

I learned how good it feels to push myself outside of my comfort zone.

I learned to loosen my grip on control and trust the process.

And I was reminded that God has a way of putting you in exactly the right place, at exactly the right time, with exactly the right people.

The list of lessons could go on forever.

But perhaps the biggest lesson of all…

Costa Rica and the High Impact Healer Retreat helped me remember who I truly am underneath all the layers, expectations, fears, and things I had allowed to bury that part of me.

And remembering her has been one of the greatest gifts I could have received.

I will forever be grateful. 🙏🏻

Sometimes the life we’re searching for is waiting on the other side of the fear we’ve been afraid to face.

You just have to be willing to jump.

Sometimes the person frustrating you isn’t actually the problem. Sometimes they’re the mirror. 🪞

This morning, I caught myself getting frustrated with my dog. But when I paused and looked a little deeper, I realized the frustration wasn’t really about my dog at all.

I had slept in. I was running behind. I hadn’t given myself enough time to do what I needed to do—and I was projecting that frustration outward.

And honestly? That’s what projection can teach us.

When someone triggers us, hurts us, irritates us, or says something that feels personal, it can be an opportunity to pause and ask:

“What is this showing me about me?”

And the other side of that is remembering that what someone else says or does is often a reflection of their inner world, not yours.

Not everything is about you.

You don’t have to carry someone else’s projections, emotions, judgments, or wounds as if they belong to you.

Do your inner work.
Take what is yours.
Leave what isn’t.
And learn to stop taking everything personally.

That awareness alone can change so much. 🤍

Ps... My dog was not harmed during this process ;) I actually loved on him a little extra for showing me what I needed to work on 🐾🐕💙

Breathwork has become so much more than breathing for me.

It’s a way to come back to myself, regulate my nervous system, move through emotions, and make space for what’s ready to be released.

These are just 3 ways breathwork has impacted me personally—and I’m still discovering what’s possible.

Sometimes the healing we seek isn’t outside of us. We simply need to create enough space to feel what’s already within.
