What an unforgettable finale to the city-to-city leg of our AOSSM-ESSKA Traveling Fellowship. Lyon absolutely blew us away, both inside the OR and out.🇫🇷
We spent incredible days diving deep into the highest level of patellofemoral, osteotomy, and ACL surgery, learning from absolute masters of the craft. The exchange of surgical philosophy, technique, and complex cases make this fellowship practice changing!
Lyon lived up to the hype as the gastronomic capital of the world, from local spots to the legendary Paul Bocuse where we had the famous chicken in pig bladder, amazing cheeses, and the best chocolate dessert followed by a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar! 🥖🍷✨
More than the surgery and the Michelin-starred meals, this stop and the entire fellowship was about the people. Incredible hospitality, unforgettable laughs, and friendships for life forged in Lyon.

An unforgettable stop in Barcelona! 🇪🇸
We had the privilege of spending time with an exceptional group of knee surgeons — observing complex multiligament reconstructions, ACL with LET and ALL, implant-free MPFL,distal femoral osteotomy, and more. A hands-on cadaver lab and lively scientific session rounded out an incredible learning experience
Outside the OR: Sagrada Família, Gaudí, the Gothic quarter, a Corpinnat wine tasting, and so much great food including jamón ibérico. Catalonia doesn’t disappoint!

Incredibly grateful for our traveling fellowship experience in Milan!
Unique perspectives regarding Latarjet, Bankart with Remplissage, PCL & ACL with LET coupled an impressive scientific sessions with great facility and sharpe residents
Lake Como was breathtaking beyond words!

But what truly made this part of trip special was the warmth and hospitality of our Italian hosts. The food was extraordinary from homemade pasta, to fresh seafood and incredible wines making every meal like a celebration. Everyone welcomed us not just as colleagues, but as family. We have seen this at every stop!
Thank you for this once in a lifetime experience!

Our third stop on the AOSSM ESSKA Traveling Fellowship in Brandenburg, Germany, hosted by Prof. Roland Becker. 🇩🇪
Prof. Becker’s expertise in ACL reconstruction and tibial slope correction was truly impressive.
Beyond the OR, spending time with new friends in Berlin was unforgettable: the history, the architecture, the food. 🏛️🥨

What an unbelievable stop in Oslo on the AOSSM-ESSKA Traveling Fellowship! Huge thanks to our phenomenal host, Berte Bøe and the legend Lars Engebretsen and, for an inside look at why Oslo is a world leader in sports trauma.
From arthroscopic Latarjet to complex multi-ligament reconstructions to discussing the latest research in Oslo, it’s a masterclass in evidence-based treatment of athletes.
Beyond the OR, the hospitality was as world-class as the medicine. There’s nothing like a deep-dive scientific session followed by the beauty of the Oslofjord!

Excited to join an outstanding international panel for the AJSM Webinar Series: Posterior Shoulder Instability — Understanding the Dark Side of the Shoulder.

On April 2 at 8 PM EST, we’ll review key AJSM studies on anatomy, biomechanics, surgical indications, risk factors for failure, and long-term outcomes. I’ll be presenting our study on minimum 10-year outcomes following arthroscopic capsulolabral repair for isolated posterior shoulder instability, followed by a panel discussion and live Q&A.

Great week at the NFL Scouting Combine evaluating the incredible athletes coming through the Combine and presenting our research on patellar tendon partial tears in athletes—an injury we commonly see in professional football players.

Grateful to my co-authors, Jim Bradley and Alex Markes, and appreciative of our collaboration with the Pittsburgh Steelers as we continue working to improve player care and advance innovation in professional football.
