This June, Pennsylvania House of Representatives officially recognized Aphasia Awareness Month, while also honoring Kimberley Jones for her unwavering advocacy and impact in the aphasia community.
Kimberley, pictured in the black suit, is an active member of both the Pennsylvania Communication Access Coalition (PCAC) and the Pennsylvania Aphasia Association (PCAA). Following her stroke and aphasia diagnosis 14 years ago, she has continued to use her voice to educate others, support fellow individuals with aphasia, and champion communication access across the state.
We are proud to celebrate Kimberley’s dedication and the awareness she brings to aphasia every day. Her perseverance and advocacy remind us that aphasia affects communication—not intelligence—and that every person deserves to be heard and understood.
