Mentorship in Motion: Building Effective Mentorship Programs in EMS Education

Behind every great EMS provider is someone who took the time to guide, challenge, and believe in them. Mentorship in Motion explores how intentional mentorship can transform both learners and organizations. This webinar dives into the structure, strategies, and culture that make mentorship programs successful—from onboarding new providers to developing future leaders. Attendees will leave with actionable steps to create, strengthen, or formalize mentorship within their own EMS agencies and educational settings.

Join us for The Airway Gap: Aligning EMS Education with Modern Clinical Practice. Paramedic students are often taught airway management using equipment and methods that do not match current field practice. At the same time, an increasing number of EMS systems have adopted video laryngoscopy as a primary intubation device. The result is a growing gap between how providers are trained and what they are expected to do when the airway is difficult and the stakes are high.

In this session, Dr. Andrew Napier, emergency physician, former Army combat medic who managed trauma patients during combat operations in Afghanistan, and founder of IntuBlade, reviews the evidence behind video laryngoscopy in prehospital care. The session will examine first-pass success, the challenges of preparing providers with equipment that differs from what they will use in practice, and how familiarity with airway equipment affects performance under pressure.

This is not a product presentation. It is a clinical discussion about whether airway education has kept pace with modern prehospital care and what EMS educators can do to close that gap.
