What is a 2-step TB test?

🙋🏾‍♀️This test serves as the initial baseline screening for tuberculosis, including past infections, particularly for healthcare workers. It necessitates four total visits: two for injections and two for readings, spanning approximately 2-3 weeks. Pennsylvania Homecare Agencies require completion of this test for employment.

💡Alternatively, the QuantiFERON TB Gold blood draw offers a single-visit option.

☝🏽A TB chest X-ray may follow a positive test result to detect active or latent infections.

Rest assured, homecare agencies prioritize participant and community safety, making this requirement unavoidable.
