Our UPMC Sports Medicine Athletic Training team came together for their annual Fall Kickoff Staff Meeting last week, as they prepare for another school year of serving student-athletes and communities across Western Pennsylvania. We were also pleased to have our Williamsport region athletic trainers join us via Teams, allowing colleagues from across our coverage area to participate in the day’s activities.

The day was filled with learning, collaboration, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Here's to another year of making an impact in our community and continuing to advance the profession of athletic training.

At the walk-in orthopaedic injury clinic at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, providers like Jeanne Doperak, DO, are dedicated to helping patients outside normal business hours.

“I enjoy the variety of people and injuries we see at the walk-in clinic and I’m happy we are here to help people when they’ve had an injury, so we can put them on the right path to get back to life and the things they love,” says Dr. Doperak.

The after-hours clinic offers easy access to expert evaluation for patients seeking care for non-life-threatening orthopaedic injuries.

“We generally evaluate acute injuries and come up with a short- and long-term plan of care,” says Dr. Doperak. “It means getting a care plan started and giving the patient the tools to start the healing process.”
