"Instead of only asking how to improve care for one patient, I now ask how we can improve care for entire populations" ❤️

That perspective is what inspired Trina, a Family Nurse Practitioner, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Creighton University, and nursing PhD student at Duquesne University.

Trina's research focuses on helping nurse practitioners integrate pharmacogenomics into primary care, particularly for patients with depression. She hopes to make personalized medicine more accessible, reduce medication side effects, and improve patient outcomes.

As a clinician, educator, researcher, and doctoral student, Trina is helping bridge the gap between research and practice so evidence-based care can reach more patients.

Her advice for nurses considering a PhD: "Choose a research topic that truly excites you. A PhD is challenging, but it's incredibly rewarding when you're passionate about asking questions, solving problems, and making a lasting impact on nursing and patient care."
