If you keep getting styes, your eyes might be trying to tell you something 👁️

Styes are often caused by blocked oil glands or bacteria buildup along the eyelid margin — and small daily habits can make a BIG difference.

A few ways to help prevent them:
✨ Remove eye makeup completely before bed
✨ Clean your eyelids/lashes if you’re prone to buildup or blepharitis
✨ Use a warm compress on a weekly basis

And if you’re getting frequent styes, recurring irritation, or eyelid swelling, it may be time for a full eye evaluation.

Your eyes shouldn’t constantly feel irritated.

Most people don’t realize diabetic retinopathy can begin damaging vision long before symptoms ever appear. 👁️

That’s what makes routine diabetic eye exams so important.

While diabetic retinopathy usually can’t be fully reversed once damage occurs, early detection and treatment can help slow progression and protect your vision for the future.

If you have diabetes, your eye health deserves to be part of your overall health routine — not something you wait on until vision changes happen.

At Chang Eye Group, we use advanced technology to monitor retinal health and help catch changes as early as possible.

Your eyes can tell us a lot before you ever notice symptoms yourself.

You’ve probably heard that nutrition affects your heart, brain, and eyes… but did you know it may impact your hearing too? 👂🥬

Research suggests that certain nutrients may help support healthy circulation and protect the delicate structures inside the ear over time. While food alone can’t prevent or cure hearing loss, healthy habits may play a role in long-term hearing health.

In this post, we’re sharing:
✔️ Foods that may support hearing health
✔️ Nutrients linked to inner ear function
✔️ Eating habits that may negatively impact hearing
✔️ Simple ways to support your overall wellness

Your hearing health matters — and small daily choices can add up over time. 💚

If you’ve noticed ringing, muffled sounds, difficulty hearing conversations, or changes in your hearing, it may be time for a professional evaluation.

One of the biggest myths in eye care? “Wearing glasses will make your eyesight worse.” 👓

The truth is: NO — glasses do not weaken your eyes. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Here’s what’s actually happening:

Your prescription may naturally change over time due to age, genetics, eye growth, or health changes… but your glasses are not causing that change.

Glasses simply help correct blurry vision so your eyes can focus more clearly. They don’t make your eyes “lazy,” dependent, or weaker.

In fact, wearing the correct prescription can help reduce:
✔️ Eye strain
✔️ Headaches
✔️ Squinting
✔️ Fatigue from trying to focus

So if your doctor prescribed glasses, wearing them is helping your vision — not hurting it. 👏

Have questions about your eyesight or prescription? Our team at Chang Eye Group is here to help. Call us today at (412) 429-2020 to make an appointment with our staff! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Around your 40s, many people start noticing they need to hold menus, phones, or books farther away to see clearly. This is called presbyopia — and it’s a completely normal part of aging. 👁️

Unfortunately, there’s no proven way to stop it from happening altogether. As we age, the natural lens inside the eye becomes less flexible, making it harder to focus on close-up objects.

The good news? There are plenty of options to help you see comfortably again:
✔️ Reading glasses
✔️ Multifocal contacts
✔️ Progressive lenses
✔️ Surgical options for some patients

If you’re noticing changes in your near vision, an eye exam can help determine the best solution for your lifestyle. 👓
