PLEASE CONTACT YOUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO URGE THEM TO PASS THIS ACT
There is no reason that the big 3 PBMs should be able to force patients to use their own pharmacies and then pay themselves more than independents or small chains.
No monopolies, no vertical integration - just good patient care the way it should be done

While PBM reforms that passed earlier this year will spur further changes in the way business is conducted, it’s anti-trust legislation that could have the most impact.

Good start, but not enough. So many states are ahead of us, with pharmacies closing every day here in PA.

We need to step on the gas and follow the lead of other states strict PBM reform (like Tennessee, Mississippi, or Ohio, to name a few)

Governor Shapiro’s pressure on PBMs and Act 77 reforms are causing PBMs to move away from spread pricing that hurts pharmacies.

“The bottom line is simple: it cost more to run my pharmacy than I was paid to provide care. No business, no matter how dedicated, can survive under those conditions.”

Governor Shapiro, are you listening as pharmacies struggle and close their doors?

The commonwealth faces a pharmacy desert crisis as PBMs reimburse independent pharmacies below cost while pocketing millions through spread pricing. House Bill 2270 and Senate Bill 1186 offer solutions, but time is running out.

🎉 The Patients Before Monopolies Act was reintroduced today in both chambers of Congress — and NCPA is proud to endorse it! This bill aims squarely at the conflicts of interest created by vertically integrated PBMs by prohibiting a parent company from owning both a PBM/health insurer and a phar...

Running two drugstores is a break-even endeavor for Primary Care Pharmacy Services owner Anthony Bertola, as long as he barely pays himself. There’s little he can do to improve his margins — he’s at the mercy of a small number of companies that oversee prescription drug benefits.

Pharmacies buy their drugs from wholesalers. They’re primarily paid for dispensing them by pharmacy benefit managers, or PBMs, who are hired as middlemen by insurance companies, employers funding their own health plans and government programs.
