To support behavioral health treatment, it is important to make every effort to use non-stigmatizing language. Stigma creates a greater barrier for people in need of care.

It takes time for language to change, but we can make a difference while changing a little at a time.

Today marks one year since the Shapiro Administration issued GRC’s Hope From Home Telehealth program the first telehealth-only license for substance use disorder treatment in Pennsylvania.

Since then, we have continued to bring patients accessible treatment from the comfort of their own homes across 29 PA counties, through over 750 telehealth encounters. Those encounters include 488 medical and psych services; 230,500 total clinical virtual minutes, and 75 active nursing professionals through the Nurses’ Health Program.
