In this clinic, we believe adhering to cancellation policies is very chic. 💅

Listen, we are all human. I know life throws curveballs and sometimes you absolutely have to cancel. Kids get sick, appointments get double booked, or work runs late. We get it!

But we wanted to remind everyone why our 24-hour policy exists. Consistent cancellations make it super hard for us to keep the lights on, even harder to navigate scheduling with people who are waiting for a spot, and our incredible therapists deserve to have a reliable, secure schedule so they can keep showing up as their best selves.

Quiet transparent- I got straight up duped by a family this week to avoid our cancellation fee and it left me feeling BUMMMMMMED out. The mental gymnastics done just to rig the system left me feeling defeated and my therapist frustrated. The reality is - the majority of our clients have NO issue with this very basic concept of scheduling and cancelling in an appropriate window so I refuse to let it weigh me down.

I have to put out this PSA for current clients ( and future!) We know this may not make us a fit for everyone and that is okay - we are trying to run our clinic to the highest and most respectful caliber which includes respecting my clinicians time.

The truth is despite crazy schedules and a few situations here and there that make us want to pull out our hair ,we love our clients so much, and we appreciate you helping us protect our team’s time.

Thanks for being the kind, considerate, and communicative.

Before you get in a tizzy in my DMs… just do a little dance dance to this song then hear me out. This isn’t about shaming; it’s about getting your baby support so that they do not become the kids and adults in our treatment rooms.

We have a bad habit of treating infant feeding struggles like personality quirks. Often times I hear ‘ he is just a lazy eater and about twice as week, I get a call about a baby who “just hate pacifiers” or worse - is refusing bottles . But those babes grow up to be the 12-year-olds in our office needing extensive oral myofunctional therapy, years of speech therapy, and incredibly expensive orthodontic work. It honestly hurts my heart a little when we get an intake that I KNOW we could’ve helped as an infant.

We hear all about the trending Instagram posts about triangle-shaped ni***es. Moms are coming in completely defeated because their baby won’t take the “magic” bottle the internet recommended. While shape does matter, so many people share things w***y nilly ( with good intentions) without even realizing the greater picture here.

Here is the truth: It’s usually not the bottle. It’s usually not the pacifier. It’s oral function. The suck, swallow, breathe patterns needed for both nutritive suck and non nutritive suck are critical and I’ll tell anyone who will listen!

And the sooner we address the mechanics, the better off your baby will be. So they do not become the tween or the adult sitting in a therapy session right now for the same issues.

Some days I want to throw my phone in the river.

The calls, the emails, the billing, the toilets—it’s always the toilets LOL —and then… content. It’s a lot, especially on top of working a totally separate job I have a completely different degree for (🫣🫨)

The reality is, I’m a clinician. A clinician who has to make content to keep her small business alive. I am not a content creator pretending to be a clinician.

And what’s worse? Every little post, blog, and reel I make, I get totally wrapped up in feeling cringe. Like massively cringe.

But then days come along where I realize: it doesn’t actually matter if I feel cringe or not.

Because each time I post, our intakes go up. Our support products sell. Our engagement boosts. I mean Duh but still.

Posting is what keeps my clinic full. It’s what keeps my team’s schedules plentiful—and I have a whole team I need to think about.I have the future generations to think about with students joining our clinic.
Posting is what helps me connect with other business owners like Kylie Davis M.S. CCC-SLP here in Montrose, CO and Leroy and Company Dog Training in Scranton, PA.

And posting is what helps people—young and aged—realize there is actually help out there for them.

The cringe is real, but the impact is… shockingly bigger. So if you’re doing the exact same thing and feeling the cringe today… may I suggest you simply carry on. 😎

5 things absolutely worth the money in the oral myofunctional therapy and airway space (and they arent what you think)
watch the video for the deep dive, but here is the list:

1. seeing a therapy provider who actually has the education, experience, and additional credentials to make a difference
2. getting a ceph at dr runcos (still looking for a airway ortho or dentiist in montrose co btw - let me know if you know one)
3. traveling to a dentist who is actually airway trained like dr nadia afzal in the lehigh valley
4. dedicated personal therapy over product hopping
5. specialized bodywork (like osteopathic manipulation, craniosacral, or myofascial release). your tongue doesn’t operate in a vacuum. if your neck, shoulders, and hyoid are locked up, your myo results are just going to plateau.

I know i know you wanted the product low down but that just ain’t meeeeeeee ! If the mouth tape and resistive straw works for you that’s ho**ey dorey! But in a world where everyoneeeee is pushing you a product, I would rather push sustainable change.

I hear this, probably a million times a week. phone calls inquiries, and honestly, even friends telling me about their littles who some provider along the way noted that they have a mild tie.

my head honcho therapist, Megan, and I we’re reviewing one of her cases right now and she stopped me in my tracks when she told me the story of what two providers that this client has already seen said…

Of course it involved a mild tie and then Megan followed up WTF is a mild tie. Words I think I would put on my tombstone.

And probably not for the reasons you think. it’s not that we think every tie is severe or that every tie needs a release or even that every tie needs therapy. But rather

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?! Is the tension of the fascia and into the muscle of the tongue mild? Is the color mild? Is the thickness mild? Is the strength - coordination - stamina or stability mild?

no, probably not because anybody actually assessing for that, would never call it a mild tie.

So next time you hear someone diagnose your tie or your child’s tie, whether that’s lip or tongue a mild tie simply ask them why and then maybe I don’t know. Book an appointment with us…. 🤷‍♀️

OMG and before you ask YES THAT IS THE LINGUA MOBILE overlandingggggggg 👏

Inspo? My DMs.

The plot is getting lost. My DMs are constantly filled with questions about the newest gadgets, the most expensive cups, or the trending supplements or mouth tape for myo.

We spend so much time obsessing over the “stuff” and the “quick fixes,” but what if we’re missing the foundation?

True health and optimal feeding start with function. It’s about how the tongue actually moves, how the airway functions, and how the nervous system regulates. Before jumping to band-aid solutions—whether it’s for an infant’s latch or an adult’s chronic tension—we need to look at the root cause.

No matter the age - Mechanics and airway health matter. Not really sure how much everything else does.

Honestly - some days I don’t know how I do it. Overwhelmed, flooded, and exhausted is often a typical state of reality when you live a dual career life.

Other days I am THAT girl. Cloud 9 - beyond proud of what I accomplish and what I am able to provide the community here in Montrose, CO, back in Pittston, PA and even in Doylestown, PA.

The highs are high and the lows are really friggen low and when lifting this AM preparing for another tough week, I realized my anchors get me through.

Training hard
Exploring the mountains
My pups
Books galore
My family
Mr. Lingua
My friends
The amazing team @ Lingua

Amongst the chaos little Chelsea may be screaming ‘omg’ but it’s all for the best of reasons.I love my life full. After all, you only get one and who knows how long that one will last?!

I know you’ve been told that you just carry stress in your jaw. They gave you a night guard and tried to take your deep breaths. Maybe you’ve tried Botox, but you still wake up with a pounding headache, tight muscle, muscles, and clicking joints. I know you’ve been told this because so have I.

The reality is your jaw pain isn’t a personality trait and it’s not just a stressful week at work. of course, there is no denying that compounded stress adds discomfort to the emotional and physical body but more often than not jaw pain you are feeling is a mechanical issue. Your body is over compensating especially at night to keep oxygen flowing and your jaw muscles take the hit. You can try to ignore it. You can try to mask it, but until you release the facia and retrain the mechanics, the tension will come right back.

Comment the word JAW below or shoot us a message and I will send you our TMJ relief video set or you can help yourself by taking it one step farther and book an appointment to get to the root cause.
