🔥🥇For more than 44 years, my dad, Bob Smith, poured his heart into education, mentorship, and the lives of young people at Plainfield Central High School. Long after retirement, his impact continues to grow through the Bob Smith & Family Scholarship — a scholarship created not just to honor his years in education, but to continue the legacy of giving back to the students and community he loved so deeply.
🤼What began years ago through the Smith Brothers Wrestling Camp in Plainfield became something much bigger than we ever imagined. The camp helped fund the scholarship and created opportunities for deserving students, until COVID brought that chapter to a close. But even then, my dad’s spirit of service never slowed down.
🐝In 2018, a new chapter quietly began in our family, beekeeping. What started as a hobby soon became another labor of love. My dad named the honey company “Yia Yias Meli,” which means “Grandma’s Honey,” and from those hives came something incredibly sweet in more ways than one. Since 2018, Yia Yias Meli Local Raw Honey has been sold at Plainfield Chiropractic Clinic, and every single dollar earned has gone directly back to students through the Bob Smith & Family Scholarship.
Think about that for a moment, every jar of honey purchased has helped invest in a young person’s future. Every bee, every hive, every drop of honey became part of a bigger purpose. My dad spent his life helping students grow, and even in retirement, he found another way to keep serving others.
🙏We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible patients of Plainfield Chiropractic Clinic and the entire Plainfield community. Your support of Yia Yias Meli Local Raw Honey has meant so much more than simply purchasing a jar of honey, you became part of something bigger. Because of your kindness and generosity, scholarships have been awarded, students have been encouraged, and lives have been impacted. Every purchase helped continue my dad’s lifelong mission of supporting young people and giving back to the community he loves so dearly. We are beyond thankful for each and every one of you who helped make this possible.

We hope this scholarship reminds them that an entire community believes in them and is cheering them on every step of the way.
Dad, thank you for spending your life helping others succeed. Thank you for showing us what service, generosity, and love for a community truly look like. And thank you for “beeing” such a busy bee 🐝❤️
