After a two-week absence from work, this chapter is coming to an end. Tomorrow is my last day away from doing what I absolutely love—offering a safe place to heal through clinical massage.

Unpacking boxes after our move has felt a bit like Christmas morning, especially when we open one that wasn’t labeled correctly and discover a surprise inside!

Getting to know our “new” old home has been both challenging and sweet. We purchased this house knowing it would be a rehabilitation project, and so far we’ve embraced every part of the journey. From stopping to fix little things, to calling the plumber and the gas company to locate and repair leaks, re-routing downspouts from gutters when the basement flooded after it rained, to simply adjusting to a smaller space—it has all been part of making this house our home.

Can I just say, I had no idea how much stress the size of our previous home was causing me. Sometimes holding on hurts more than letting go.

Everything has a place in this new home. There’s no wasted space, no overwhelming staircase, and no rooms full of things collected over the years that need dusting or have been forgotten about. Instead, we have beautiful original hardwood floors that shine and are easy to maintain.

Our animals love it here, too. Not one of them has had even the slightest accident while adjusting to a new environment (KNOCK ON WOOD!).

There is such a tender “Home Sweet Home” feeling here, and we absolutely love it.
