Yoga philosophy teaches us that we are not separate from our experiences.

The way we breathe, move, think, feel, and respond to the world is interconnected. When we slow down enough to notice these connections, we can begin to meet ourselves with greater awareness and compassion.

The Yoga Sutras describe practice through the principles of steadiness and ease—sthira sukham.

This does not mean avoiding discomfort or feeling calm all the time. It means learning to remain present and compassionate with ourselves, even when life feels challenging.

Some days, steadiness may look like moving through a grounding yoga practice. Other days, it may look like resting, breathing, or simply noticing what your body needs.

Yoga invites us to listen rather than force, soften rather than resist, and respond with care.

Begin where you are. Let your practice meet you there.

There was a time when yoga was simply a practice on the mat—a moment to breathe, move, and reconnect.

But over time, yoga can become something more. It can deepen your understanding of yourself, strengthen your connection with others, and inspire you to share the gifts of yoga with your community.

Our Registered Yoga Teacher Training is designed for those who feel called to explore yoga more deeply—whether your dream is to teach, grow personally, or build a stronger foundation in the practice.

This journey is about more than learning poses. It is about discovering the wisdom, presence, compassion, and confidence that make yoga truly transformative.

If you have been wondering whether teacher training is right for you, we invite you to join Ellie for our upcoming Registered Yoga Teacher Info Meeting.

📅 August 26, 2026

Your Breath Is a Messenger

Have you ever noticed that your breath changes before you consciously realize that you’re stressed, excited, tired, or at ease?

Your breath is like a window into your nervous system. It constantly responds to what is happening within you and around you—and when you pause to observe it, it can offer valuable information.

Before changing your breath, simply notice:

• Is it fast or slow?
• Smooth or jerky?
• Even or irregular?
• Quiet or loud?
• Deep or shallow?
• Is there a natural pause between the inhale and exhale?
• Does the exhale feel complete, or do you feel the need to quickly breathe in again?

These qualities do not label you or tell the whole story, but they can provide clues about how your nervous system may be responding in the moment.

Think of your breath like the dashboard lights in a car. A light may not explain everything that is happening under the hood, but it gives you useful information. In the same way, a fast or choppy breath may suggest that your system is experiencing urgency, stimulation, or tension. A slow, steady, and quiet breath may reflect a greater sense of ease or safety.

For example:

✨ Before an important conversation, you may notice that your breath becomes shallow and quick.

✨ While rushing through your morning, you may realize that your inhale and exhale feel uneven, with little space between them.

✨ After sitting quietly outdoors or practicing yoga, you may notice that your breath has naturally become smoother, slower, and more spacious.

✨ When you feel safe and relaxed, you may experience a gentle pause between the inhale and exhale without needing to force it.

The pause is especially interesting. It may feel peaceful and natural—or it may feel uncomfortable if your body is already experiencing stress. There is no “perfect” breath to achieve. The practice is simply to listen with curiosity rather than judgment.

Try this simple breath-awareness practice:

Sit comfortably and allow your breath to be natural.
Notice the pace, rhythm, texture, and sound of your breathing.
Observe whether the inhale or exhale feels easier.
Notice any pauses without trying to lengthen them.
Ask yourself: “What might my breath be communicating right now?”
If it feels supportive, soften your shoulders and allow your exhale to lengthen naturally.
You do not have to control your breath to learn from it. Observation itself can create awareness—and awareness gives you more choice.

Your breath may be communicating, “I need to slow down,” “I feel safe here,” “I need space,” or “Something needs my attention.”

Begin by listening.

Your nervous system is constantly taking in information and deciding whether you are safe, stressed, energized, or in need of rest.

When life feels overwhelming, your body may respond with tension, racing thoughts, irritability, fatigue, shallow breathing, or difficulty focusing. These are not personal failures—they may be signs that your nervous system is asking for support.

Yoga can help you develop greater awareness of these signals through:

☀️ Intentional breathing
☀️Mindful movement
☀️Grounding practices
☀️Restorative postures
☀️Body awareness

With consistent practice, yoga can help you notice what is happening within you before stress becomes overwhelming. Regulation does not mean feeling calm all the time. It means building the capacity to meet life’s experiences with more awareness, steadiness, and choice.

There is a part of healing that people do not talk about enough.

It is the part after the crisis.

After the loss.

After the divorce.

After leaving.

After surviving.

After the diagnosis.

After the business closes.

After everyone assumes you should be okay.

This is the “now what?” space.

It is the space where you are trying to understand who you are now and how to rebuild a life when the one you had is gone.

I’ve been there too.

I created Tools for Transformation: The Resilience Edition because I know how powerful it can be to have practical tools, compassionate guidance, and a supportive space while rebuilding.

In this experience, I share tools I used to heal, move forward, rebuild my life, and create a life rooted in alignment, joy, and opportunity.

We will work with guided visualizations, journaling, gratitude practices, vision-board exercises, reflection, and practical next steps.

You are not broken.

You are not behind.

You are not required to become who you were before.

You are allowed to create a life that honors what you have been through and reflects who you are now.

Dates: August 17, August 24, August 31, and September 14
Time: 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Format: Online
Investment: $97. Register here: https://wix.to/joppx50
