🌟 Wellness in Action at the Plano International Festival! 🌟
This weekend, Asara Physical Therapy and Balance Clinic had the pleasure of offering free gait analysis screenings to attendees of all ages—from 4 to 87 years old!
During the screenings, we looked closely at walking asymmetries, such as how much weight is favored on one leg, walking speed, cadence, and step frequency, and the time spent in single-leg vs. double-leg support. These measurements help us identify balance challenges, hesitations, or weaknesses that might otherwise go unnoticed.
We provided attendees with simple exercises to practice at home to improve stability and balance. For those at risk of falling or needing further evaluation, we gave a summary report to share with their doctor or local physical therapist.
Physical therapy isn’t just about following a protocol. It’s about identifying problems, preventing injuries, and taking a proactive approach to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
